If you have heard anything about 2019’s Hustlers, it is no doubt that Jennifer Lopez is fantastic! That praise for J-Lo’s performance is well deserved as the more mature stripper of the group she is wiser, motherly, and steals every scene she is in. While most of the talk is about her performance, Hustlers is actually a damn fine crime movie in its own right.

The Movie Review
I was surprised to hear that Hustlers was actually based on a true story. Of course, the term “based” means that unless you are fully familiar with this, you are not sure of what is real and what is just written for the movie. Still, it is a very interesting story about a group of strippers who are struggling to get by.
The movie has a great ensemble cast with the likes of Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Julia Styles, Cardi B, and many more. While it is Jennifer Lopez that gets all the attention, the main character I would say is Destiny who is a stripper and played by the very talented Constance Hu.
These strippers are a fun-loving bunch on the surface, but times are very hard. They each have their own struggles and the first part of the movie is all about showcasing this. It is a setup for why they are about to engage in the things that they are about to be doing.
