Over the last couple of months, I have been so hyped for Jurassic World: Dominion. Then the reviews started to come out and I started to get a little nervous and less excited about the movie. It has had a very split reception to it with some people saying it is the worst in the franchise and others saying they loved it. I sit firmly in the “loved it” camp and legit have no idea why so many people have issues with the movie.
How to Download Jurassic World Dominion
Since this is a Universal Pictures release, you should be able to download the film from PeacockTV but certainly not sooner than 45 days after its theatrical release (it happened on 10 June 2002). Click on the Download button at the end of this review to check the current availability.
The Movie Review
This is the end of an era for the Jurassic franchise. It has been stated that this is the end of this saga and I think it is the right time to end things. It combines the Jurassic World and Jurassic Park series and I think it brings it to a likable conclusion that does not fully shut the door on them coming back with these characters later.
After the events of Fallen Kingdom, things on Earth are quite strange. There are dinosaurs that live in the wild and cause chaos all over Earth. However, a company called BioSyn Genetics has created a “sanctuary” where they take dinosaurs that are captured and use their DNA to make medicines and other advancements for humankind.
BioSyn is led by a Steve Jobs-style whacko called Lewis Dodgson which is awesome as it has ties to the very first Jurassic Park movie. He is not just after any dinosaurs! Dodgson and Henry Wu, specifically wants Velociraptor Blues baby, Beta and he also wants human clone Maisie who is being looked after by Claire and Owen.
That is one side of the plot! The other side of the plot has Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant (the protagonists from Jurassic Park) coming to BioSyn HQ to try and get evidence for some shady goings-on involving locusts that could lead to mankind’s extinction! Oh, and it is only Ian Malcolm (he’s one of the characters in Jurassic Park too) that is their man on the inside trying to help them out!
I found the plot a lot of fun and very easy to follow. The Jurassic World and Jurassic Park cast combine to try and survive this new dinosaur sanctuary and also bring down BioSyn while saving Beta and Maisie! I have heard some people say that there were too many characters and that the plot was weak, but I never once felt that while watching the movie.
I felt that each of the main characters got their time to shine. Also, Jurassic World: Dominion features some of the best dinosaur action in the Jurassic World series. The scene that takes place in Malta where there is an illegal black market for selling dinosaurs is absolutely fantastic!
As you would expect from a movie in this franchise, the special effects are jaw-dropping. The CG and the practical effects are truly incredible and the triple threat dinosaur showdown at the very end had me on the edge of my seat… even if I did wish that it went on just a tad longer.
From start to end I was thoroughly entertained by Jurassic World: Dominion. Out of the six movies, I would probably rank this one at number four, but to be honest with you, I do not think the entire Jurassic Park/World saga has a bad movie in it. This is a movie where you have to ignore the mixed reception, go and see it and just make up your own mind.
