Kaos Download

Kaos is a Netflix original series and a series that is well worth your time checking out. The wife and I had a lot of fun with this show and by the end of the eight episode we had been on one heck of a wild ride. Like many people who watched Kaos, I mainly watched this because it was a TV series that had Jeff Goldblum in a starring role.

Kaos: A Netflix Original Series Worth Watching – The TV Show Review

If you are a fan of Jeff Goldblum you will get such a kick out of his performance of Zeus. Kaos is a different/modern take on the Gods of Olympus, led by Zeus. Zeus has become paranoid and is convinced that the end of his reign as the king of the gods is coming to an end. He is obsessed with a prophecy and a little wrinkle on his forehead has pushed him well and truly over the edge.

This has caused him to want to devastate humanity to put some fear back into them. As well as wanting to put the humans back in their place, Zeus is also pretty abusive to his children and wife Hera not to mention other members of his family such as Hades and Poseidon. While Jeff Goldblum is getting all the attention for this show, Fear the Walking Dead star, Cliff Curtis plays Poseidon and he is freaking hilarious and so much fun in this role.

Key Characters and Plot

The thing is, there is a prophecy and there are three humans at the center of it in, Riddy, Orpheus, and Caeneus. There are also The Furries, The Fates, and Dionysus who have interesting roles to play. I would say that a dark comedy is the best way to describe the tone of Kaos. There are many moments that will make you laugh, but there are also some pretty tense and brutal moments as well.

There are many great and memorable scenes here. My favorite part of the show is when Zeus has lost his prized watch and is convinced that one of his servant ball boys has it so he starts basically clay pigeon shooting them off the roof. The way that you see Zeus get more and more paranoid, crazy, and dangerous as the show goes on is so much fun and Jeff Goldblum is clearly having the time of his life in this role.

The Cast and Final Thoughts

All the cast are great, to be honest with you and it would be impossible for me to tell you all the great things everyone does. Actually, I feel that Kaos is one of those shows that is probably way more entertaining the less you know about it. I watched the first trailer for it, saw Jeff Goldblum was Zeus, and decided that was all I needed to know. I am glad I did not read more into it as there are so many interesting twists and turns in this story.

I had so much fun with this and think that it is one of the TV highlights of the year, it is certainly one of if not the best new Netflix original TV series of the year. I can easily see myself watching all of this again at some point. Hopefully, it will get a second season, but as I write this nothing has been confirmed, and let’s face it, Netflix is not exactly shy about canning great shows!
