I loved the first Now You See Me and its sequel, Now You See Me 2. Both those movies were fun heist style movies that were cheesy as hell, but they were so entertaining. The thing is, I was really not sure a third movie was necessary, and when I saw the trailer, honestly, I was not sold at all. There was just something off about it, and I felt the addition of three new magicians/illusionists was really forced.

The Movie Review
The one thing that I was excited about was how The Four Horsemen were going to be five in Now You See Me 3, as we had both Lizzie Caplan and Isla Fisher. In addition to this, the entire cast returned, so Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman are all here. It is a truly great cast, and it was fun to see them all back together again, but the trailer made me question whether we really needed more people added to the cast.
Meet the New Magicians in Now You See Me 3
Well, we have three new magicians/illusionists, led by Justice Smith’s Charlie, who, along with his friends, Bosco and June, end up calling out The Four Horsemen to try and work with them. The scene where Jesse Eisenberg’s Atlas meets our new characters and gives us their background is hilarious, with how on the nose it is in trying to quickly get the audience up to speed on who these new tricksters are and why we should care about them.
Heist, Illusions, and The Heart Diamond
Like the previous movies, Now You See Me 3 is once again best described as a heist movie. This time around, our big bad is Rosamund Pike’s Veronika Vanderberg, a diamond dealer who is like a James Bond villain with all the nefarious stuff she has her fingers in! The big score here is a massive diamond, called The Heart Diamond, and of course, they will expose her misdeeds along the way.
Tricks, Twists, and Plenty of Fun
Just as it was in the previous two movies, there are twists, turns, and some over-the-top illusions and tricks. I love the way that this movie and the two previous will break down an illusion after it happens and let you know how they did it. I find this stuff really fun, and fun is honestly the best way to describe this movie.
Standout Scene and Overall Entertainment
There is one scene specifically I want to talk about, as it was my favorite of the movie. The scene where they are all together and showing off their various skills is just so much fun and a prime example of why those who love this series do so. If I am being critical, I would probably agree with those who say that this is a bit of an unnecessary sequel, but at the same time, I was entertained, and I had a fun time with it.
Now You See Me 3 Surprises and Final Thoughts
I also want to give a bunch of credit to the person who put together the trailer for Now You See Me 3. One of my biggest complaints with modern movies is the way that so many trailers pretty much show you everything; that is not the case here. There were still some surprises that the movie had up its sleeve, and that just made it even more fun.
While I would put this third if I were to do some kind of magical Now You See Me ranking, that does not mean that I disliked it, quite the opposite. I had quite low expectations for this, but it ended up being way more entertaining than I was expecting. Honestly, I would not be upset if they decided to go to the Now You See Me well, one more time!
