I thought that Rebel Moon – Part One was a decent sci-fi movie. Brought to life via Zack Snyder wanting to make a more adult and edgier Star Wars movie, Rebel Moon has the potential to be a damn fine franchise. I am going to say right off the bat that I feel Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver is a better and more fun movie than the first one.

The Movie Review
Community Response and Film Reception
While the first movie had a bit of a mixed reception, I was kind of surprised to see that this one has a mostly negative reaction online! I had a lot of fun with this and if anything, it makes me appreciate that first movie a little bit more. This is not going to win any awards for originality and even more so than part one, the Star Wars roots and inspirations are very clear and obvious here. However, this is still a solid sci-fi movie that is easy to have a fun time with.
Immediate Sequel Dynamics
You do need to have seen the first Rebel Moon as this takes place literally right after the events of the last movie. Kora and her group of warriors have returned to the Veldt, Kora mistakenly believing that she has killed Admiral Nobel. The warriors and the farmers are all celebrating and there is hope and happiness in the village with people thinking that The Motherworld may leave them alone now.
Characters and Conflict in “Rebel Moon – Part Two”
Well, not only is Admiral Nobel still alive, he knows exactly who Kora really is and he vows to take her down and destroy the village that she is trying to protect. I have to give a ton of credit to Ed Skrein as Admiral Nobel. He is crazy, but you truly do believe that he believes that what he is doing is right. The best bad guys no matter how nuts or messed up their logic is, always think that they are right, and that perfectly sums this guy up.
Thankfully, Kora and her warriors are not blindsided by an attack as they find out that Nobel is alive and that they are coming back to the planet in a few days. This forces our group of warriors and the farmers to band together to try and fight off the Motherworld. It was awesome seeing Djimon Houston as Titus get to show why Kora held him in such high regard in the first movie.
Action and Depth in “Rebel Moon – Part Two”
All of our warriors get their moments to shine on the battlefield. However, there is also a scene with them sitting around the table where they let us know a bit more about these characters’ personalities. Look, I loved this scene, but I could also see why some people may roll their eyes and feel it is a bit of a lazy way to add more depth to these characters.
Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver moves at a quick pace and like half the freaking movie is the big battle! That was something I thought was awesome and there were so many great battle scenes, even a few that show Rebel Moon has Star Wars roots as you could just imagine these scenes happening in a Star Wars movie, but with lightsabers.
Conclusion and Looking Ahead
If I am being brutally honest, if part one did nothing for you, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver is probably not going to win you over. For me, I think that this was more fun than the first and it built on what the first movie did really well. They have left this open for a third movie and I really do hope that this does well enough as I would love to see more of these characters.
