Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a computer-animated superhero action film produced by Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Marvel Entertainment, Arad Productions, Pascal Pictures, and Lord Miller Productions. The film is set in an alternate timeline known as the Spider-Verse.

The Film Review
The movie was directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, and features a voice cast consisting of Jake Johnson, Shameik Moore, Brian Tyree Henry, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, and Lily Tomlin.
The Plot
Released on 14th December 2018, the film focuses on the life of Miles Morales, a teenager who gains extraordinary powers after being bitten by a modified spider.
Miles soon learns of his powers as he discovers the secret lab of the infamous criminal known as Wilson Fisk. It is revealed that Fisk had made a particle accelerator through which he could travel to parallel universes and meet his dead wife and son.
Suddenly, the Green Goblin appears and attempts to kill Miles who is saved by the real Spider-Man just in time. However, during the fight, the particle accelerator malfunctions and ends up killing Spider-Man.
Additionally, an older version of Spider-Man appears in his original form, also known as Peter Parker. Peter reluctantly decides to train Miles only because he also desires to return to his original universe.
Meanwhile, another universally lost individual named Gwanda -Miles’ high school crush- appears and leads the duo to the house of May Parker, who shelters and takes care of numerous other Spider-Men. Peter unsuccessfully trains Miles who eventually ends up retreating to his uncle Aaron’s house.
Surprisingly enough, Aaron turns out to be a part of Fisk’s gang as he, along with Doctor Octopus, Scorpion, and Tombstone chase Miles back to May’s apartment where the Spider-Men prepare for battle.
Miles is restrained by the other due to the lack of his experience but eventually manages to escape after receiving words of praise from his father. Miles joins the fight from one end, whereas Fisk shows up from the other. A battle takes place, resulting in Fisk’s defeat.
The film ends with Miles finally accepting his new responsibility as the hero, whereas the other genetically modified characters go back to their respective universes.
The Movie Production
Into the Spider-Verse is a breath of fresh air for the Spider-Man franchise. It is unique in the sense that it features new characters along with a distinct perspective.
Despite the fact that the movie was released in late 2018, the animators adapted traditional techniques for designing the characters.
The filmmakers wanted the film to emulate the comic book designs, hence procedures as old as 70 years were improvised during the production process. This, in turn, was combined with modern Computer Graphics to generate this beautifully crafted film.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: the Soundtrack
The official soundtrack for the film features a number of artists including Post Malone and Swae Lee, Nicki Minaj, Anuel AA, Juice Wrld, Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla Sign, Thutmose, and XXXTentacion. It was released on the same date as the film’s release by Republic Records.
The Bottom Line
In its real sense, Into The Spider-Verse was overall received with a positive sentiment. The film, on its first day, grossed over $12.6 million, proving out to be a commercial success from the start.
