Suicide Squad is a superhero action-adventure film produced by DC Entertainment, RatPac Entertainment, and Atlas Entertainment. The film is the third edition of the DC Extended Universe and was released on 1st August 2016.

The Film Review
The film is directed by David Ayer and features a cast consisting of Will Smith (Deadshot), Jared Leto (The Joker), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney (George Harkness/Captain Boomerang), Jay Hernandez (Diablo), Cara Delevingne (June Moone/Enchantress), and many others.
The Plot
Suicide Squad takes place after the death of Superman as we get to see officer Amanda Waller assemble Task Force X consisting of criminals such as Deadshot, Harley Quinn, El Diablo, and Captain Boomerang.
Lead by Rick Flag, the Task Force X members are implanted with a nanite bomb that will explode and kill them instantly if they try to escape or deceive the authority. Despite the warning, Slipknot attempts to escape and is instantly killed early on before the action. Meanwhile, one of Waller’s potential recruits, Enchantress, turns against her and tries to kill her.
Task Force X are given the mission to take out Enchantress and protect the main marker who is revealed to be Waller herself. At the same time, Joker finds about Harley’s mission and hijacks the chopper which was to escort Waller.
He also blackmails Dr. Van Criss -the head of overseeing Task Force X- into disabling Harley’s bomb, thereby enabling her to join Joker in his mission. However, the chopper is attacked by Waller’s men and Joker appears to die in the crash.
Harley re-joins Task Force X and although the group initially quits working with Flag, they eventually decide to continue the mission and take out Enchantress in order to prove themselves.
The force is joined by Navy SEALs who then strategically manage to crush Enchantress’ heart, consequently transforming her back into a normal human being. El Diablo dies in between the battle and the remaining members of Task Force X get 10 years off their sentences.
The film ends as Joker is revealed to be alive as he breaks into the prison and escapes with Harley Quinn.
The Movie Production
Suicide Squad is considered to be the film which gave life to the DC Extended Universe. Going behind the scenes of this spectacular film, Moving Picture Company (MPC) was majorly involved with the visual effects that were used throughout the sequence.
According to MPC’s VFX supervisors Robert Winter and Seth Maury, around 700 shots were taken, which mostly took place in scenes outside and inside of the rail station. Other VFX companies working on the film include Sony Imageworks, Mammal Studios, and Ollin VFX.
Suicide Squad Music
For the film’s official soundtrack, Academy Award-winning composer Steven Price was hired. The original score was released on 8th August 2016. An album was also released which featured the hit song Heathens by Twenty One Pilots.
Financial Success
Suicide Squad became an absolute hit quickly after its release. The film managed to rack up a whopping revenue of $746 million at the box office. The film also won an Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. The film had set up a standard that filmmakers could not follow up in their sequel films.
