The Film Review
The Plot
The Jungle Book revolves around a man-cub named Mowgli who was brought to a pack of wolves as a baby by the black panther Bagheera. As Mowgli begins to grow up, he learns the way of wolves but not without showing his human instincts which causes a concern for the pack.
One day, as part of the agreement between the jungle animals during the drought season, Mowgli and the pack go to drink water from the river but are interrupted by a scarred tiger named Shere Khan who threatens to break the agreement unless the panthers get rid of Mowgli.
Consequently, the leader of the pack, a wolf named Raksha, discuss this issue with the rest and eventually decide upon giving away Mowgli to a nearby human village. During his journey, Mowgli gets attacked by Shere Khan but manages to escape and finds a sloth bear named Baloo.
Meanwhile, Shere Khan attacks and manages to kill Raksha whose death remains unknown to Mowgli until he meets King Louie of the monkeys. Upon learning this information, Mowgli becomes enraged and decides to face Shere Khan alone.
Regardless, Baloo and Bagheera intervene and restrain Shere Khan, giving Mowgli just enough time to set up a trap. He then lures Shere Khan up a dead tree, onto a branch where he eventually falls and dies in the fire caused by Mowgli. The film ends as Mowgli decides to learn the way of the pack and keep his human tricks to himself from now on. At the same time, Bagheera becomes the leader of the wolves as Mowgli and Baloo go back with them to live happily.
