The Predator is a science fiction produced by Davis Entertainment. The film is the fourth edition to the Predator film series and was released on 6th September 2018. The film is directed by Shane Black and features a cast consisting of Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, and Thomas Jane.

The Film Review
The Plot
The Predator begins when Army Ranger sniper Quinn McKenna and his team are attacked by the cosmic hunter during their mission. Although they manage to chip off its armor, McKenna and his team are soon captured by government agent Will Traeger who sends the predator into a government facility to have it experimented upon.
However, the monster escapes, killing everyone in the facility except renowned biologist Casey Bracket. Meanwhile, McKenna watches the escape and takes his group, along with Bracket to his wife’s house where he initially sent off the chipped predator armor.
It is revealed that McKenna’s autistic son, Rory, has worn the armor and is out trick-or-treating. McKenna and the gang search for Rory and just manage to save him from the creepy creature’s dogs who were about to ambush him.
A second predator, larger than the first one, appears and surprisingly kills the first one. Bracket concludes that the predators are attempting to improve themselves by inheriting human DNA. This hypothesis is confirmed after Traeger, before capturing Rory and taking him to the hunter’s ship, reveals that the predators want to inherit human DNA as fast as they can before the climate change occurs.
The ugly-looking hunter takes Rory to its spaceship due to his special condition. At the same time, the predator shows up as well and through a translation software, explains how it plans on destroying the ship to keep humans from taking information from it.
Traeger pulls out an anti-alien weapon, only to end up being killed by it. The predator then takes Rory and flies away whereas McKenna and his gang land on its exterior. In order to save Rory, some of McKenna’s men sacrifice themselves, thereby forcing the ship to crash land. McKenna and Bracket then work together to kill off the injured predator.
The Predator: the Movie Production
Thirty years after the original Predator film featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger took the world by storm, director Shane Black decided it was time for a comeback.
Black was contacted by the filmmakers, after which, he publicly announced how we would be using modern CG to create scenes from the new predator movie. The film’s main visual designing and production were mainly carried out by Moving Picture Company (MPC).
According to VFX supervisors Richard Little and Arundi Asregadoo, MPC created over 500 shots for this film. Additionally, MPC also worked on creating the predator dogs and the CG swamp environment. Apart from that, the official score for the film was composed by Henry Jackman.
The Bottom Line
The Predator, although thoroughly promoted before its release, has only managed to receive mixed reviews from the fans so far. Viewers from all around have claimed that the film itself is incomplete without Arnold’s presence and persona. In the first two weeks, it managed to gross over $40 million at the box office.
