Toy Story 3 is a 3D animated movie produced by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. The film is the third installment in the Toy Story franchise. The movie has been directed by Lee Unkrich and stars Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, and Estelle Harris as the main cast.

The Film Review
Released on 12th June 2010, Toy Story 3 continues the story as we get to see a grown-up Andy who is just about to leave for college. Most of his toys have been sold and the remaining ones haven’t been played with for a long time now.
Andy decides on taking Woody with him to college whereas putting all the other ones in his closet, but after his mother mistakenly attempts to throw Buzz, Jess, and the other toys in the trash, the toys start to believe that Andy wants to get rid of them.
As a result, Buzz and the rest of the toys escape to Sunnyside Daycare and decide to stay there permanently after being warmly welcomed by Lots-O’-Huggin’ Bear – also known as Lotso – whereas Woody chooses to go back to Andy’s house.
After eventually realizing about how Andy did not mean to throw his toys away, Buzz and the rest of the crew attempt to go back but are stopped and imprisoned by Lotso and his gang. Woody returns to Sunnyside Daycare as it is now up to him to save his friends escape and go back to Andy before he leaves for college.
After the success of the first two editions in the franchise, Pixar finally announced in 2009 that a new sequel is coming soon. Director Lee Unkrich, who had been there since the beginning of the franchise, claimed that the idea of Toy Story 3 had been in his mind for quite some time but as soon as he began working on it, that idea was rejected within the first 20 minutes of brainstorming.
Eventually, a new idea was developed which had to be implemented through animation. Unkrich further explained that the animation process was a challenge. They were required to cope with the advances made in technology while also maintaining the classic Toy Story feel at the same time.
The movie’s supervising animator, Bobby Podesta, believed that the biggest challenge they faced was in a particular scene where Woody, Buzz and the rest of the toys were welcomed by literally hundreds of toys at Sunnyside Daycare.
Toy Story 3 has unarguably turned out to become the most successful film of the franchise as it grossed over $1 billion, earning more revenue than its previous two prequels combined. The film’s main theme song was composed by Randy Newman. The movie also won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
Overall, Toy Story 3 has turned out to be a massive success. The movie perfectly sums up the franchise by making sure that the audience gets to see the perfect ending that they deserve. The movie is full of emotions as they give a sense of nostalgia particularly when they see Andy all grown and about to leave for college. In short, the film is an absolute masterpiece.
