You have to give Disney a ton of credit for their Marvel TV shows. The services may have started slow, but the last year has seen them really step up with great content. Fun is probably the best word to describe What If…? All of the episodes were directed by the very talented Bryan Andrews.

The Movie Review
One of the things that are very cool about What If…? is that this actually follows on from what went down at the end of Loki. We are introduced to The Watcher as he shows us different realities where things that we know in the MCU went down differently, sometimes very drastically differently.
There are nine episodes in What If…? and I have to say that I do not think there is a bad one in the bunch. There is a ton of variety to the episodes as well and each one left you wondering just what the heck the next is going to offer? The animation style in the game is fantastic and very high-quality.
However, as good as the show looks, it is the voice acting that really makes this fit in with the MCU. Some of the actors that we know and love reprise their roles here, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange are a few that spring to mind. It helps give the show a more authentic MCU feel.
Now, not all the voices are done by their real-life counterparts, but even those that have other voice actors fit in well and sound great. An actor I am a big fan of is Lake Bell and she voices Black Widow and she does a fantastic job. So, while it would have been great if they could have got Chris Evans, Robert Downy Jr, and Scarlet Johannsson to reprise their roles, the new actors more than deliver.
As far as each episode goes, I am not going to give you a rundown of what each episode is, but I will touch on a few of my favorites. My favorite episode was What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands? This was truly amazing stuff, so much so that it would have made a phenomenal live-action movie and from what we have seen Dr. Strange: The Multiverse of Madness looks like it may borrow a thing or two!
Another great episode I had a lot of fun with was What If… Zombies?! As a huge fan of the book series of these, seeing Marvel Zombies on TV was something I got a huge kick out of, this is actually getting a spin-off show of its own. Each episode does feel like its own contained story, but this is the MCU we are talking about!
I was having such a great time with this show and then the last two episodes really put it over the edge for me. The final two episodes, What If… Ultron Won? and What If… the Watcher Broke His Oath? really do tie the whole series together in a way that only Marvel and Disney can. I really cannot wait to see what the second season of this show has to offer!
