The Song Review
The song is about the events a person goes through when they experience a complete blackout. Further, it explains how both the singers have a crazy night out with their friends but purposely forget what happened the next day.
No Me Acuerdo was officially released on 1st June 2018 and is available to play through digital download.
No Me Acuerdo: the Lyrics
In one of her interviews, Thalía claimed that the song relates to a woman’s desire of being loved and respected regardless of her beliefs.
Although the song is completely sung in Spanish, its background theme and beat makes it a colorful tune to listen to. The lyrics begin with both the singers justifying their acts by stating that they simply do not remember when or why it happened.
The tone is based on the foundation that the two have cheated on their boyfriends and are now trying to convince them by saying that they were too drunk to remember anything. The main chorus consequently features both of them as they sing “But I do not remember, I do not remember, And If I do not remember, it did not happen, that did not happen”.
The latter part of the song is quite similar to its initial theme as it is, on a whole, based on a hopeless love story.
The Video
The official music video begins with Thalía waking up from bed at 4 in the afternoon. She sees that her boyfriend is constantly staring at her as if he knows that she cheated on him.
This is followed by a change of background where Natti makes her appearance as well, sitting beside a disco ball. The music video then rewinds to 11:30 pm of the previous night where Thalía is seen dressed up in a party as she is being stared by another man.
As the main chorus begins to play, the two stars can be seen taking up the stage and dancing sensually. At the later stages of the party, Thalía can be seen being carried away by a guy who presumably ends up taking her to his place.
The song timeline returns back to the present as Thalía’s boyfriend hands over the phone which shows the same photo of her being carried away by another man.
The Song Production
When asked about collaborating with Natti Natasha, Thalía explained that her choice was spontaneous and clear as the contents of the song demanded an intense and passionate woman, indicating that she was truly the right fit.
Thalía further praised Natti for being comfortable to work with in terms of their synchronization both, in and out of the studios.
The Bottom Line
Overall, No Me Acuerdo is a colorful and entertaining song. It accurately talks about how a person can go wild during a blackout whilst also maintaining the fact that women should not be viewed and treated as sexual objects.
