Batman: Arkham Asylum is a downloadable superhero action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios. The game is based on the DC Comic superhero Batman and was officially released on 25th August 2009 by Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The Game Review
The game features a storyline where the Joker seeks to gain complete control over the city of Arkham by trapping Batman in a prison with all his accomplices. The main aim of the game is for the players to play through the storyline as Batman and stop Joker from succeeding in his diabolical plan.
The game is available to play on the platforms of PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Arkham Asylum is a single player game and the only available mode to play is the campaign. The campaign features a storyline wherein the Joker traps our main hero in a prison cell filled with his accomplices.
The Joker sets to completely take over Arkham as he leaves Batman to die at the hands of the prisoners. It is soon revealed that Joker is planning to steal a special serum, the same one that gave strength to Bane. Batman must now face against Arkham’s biggest threats including Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and many more.
Arkham Asylum features an intriguing system where the players get to control Batman in third person view. Players not only get to fight and defeat villains, but the gameplay also enforces them to use their minds and detective skills to solve numerous puzzles.
These puzzles are solved by using a variety of in-game tools such as X-ray scanners, fingerprint scans, Amido Black sprays, and pherone tracker. The main action solely revolves around Batman having to fight his opponent.
The combat system involves a variety of distinct attacks that our hero can use. This includes stealth and multiple takedowns, that can be improvised by attacking the enemy from behind or above. In addition to that, players also attain the option of using the traditional Batman gadgets such as the iconic batarang, explosive gel aerosol, the batclaw, sonar resonator, and the line launcher.
Arkham Asylum is extremely flexible when it comes to interacting and moving around the environment. Batman’s character has the option to interact with different people around him and can talk to them to gain valuable information related to the main storyline. It features large maps which the players can explore freely for as long as they want to.
The remastered game of the year addition is a special case which features 4 additional maps to choose: Crime Alley, Scarecrow Nightmare, Totally Insane, and Nocturnal Hunter.
