When the first Crysis game was released I was a console only player and I always looked on with envious eyes. This is a series from the folks at Crytek and this is the game that brought the trilogy to a close. Even though as I write this the game is close to 10 years old, it has held up very well and the series as a whole actually is one I hold in very high regard.

The Game Review
While I do not think Crysis 3 wowed gamers with its visuals the same way the first one did. I still do think this is a great looking game, it is just it had much stronger competition than the first one did. It is the best-looking game in the series and no matter if you play it on PC or on console, I feel that the game holds up very well in terms of the visuals.
The story is a tad short, however, I do feel that they managed to close it off perfectly. Some folks say the story is too similar to Halo and I can see that. However, as far as an alien invasion story goes, this is awesome. Once again you are fighting off the Ceph, but you also have to deal with a new organization called CELL who are pretty damn brutal.
The gameplay is that of a first-person shooter and it is an excellent one. Your suit gives you access to some pretty badass attacks and will allow you to hide in stealth sections. You also have a large array of weapons; these are cool in that you can use “human” weapons as well as more advanced alien weapons too. The gunplay is truly awesome and a major reason I have played through this multiple times.
Some games are just pure fun to play and that is the category I feel Crysis 3 fits into. You have a progression system that is very easy to understand. You have weapons and abilities you can upgrade and you can choose which ones to do so. This means that you can play the game in a style that suits you.
As far as the level design goes, I really like it. While the game is always moving you forward to your next objective. Some of these levels are massive and you can go off the beaten path and do a bit of exploring if you wish. The game has some tremendous set pieces that will get your heart beating a million beats per minute as they are so exciting.
Even though this is an older game, Crysis 3 is still a ton of fun to play. I do think that as it is so story-driven, you need to play the other two first. Thankfully, you can get a collection of all three games these days which I highly recommend. Which is pretty handy as Crysis 4 is said to be with us sooner than later!
