Dying Light is a survival horror game, so it’s all about not letting yourself be killed by your enemies. The first association brings to mind the movie called I Am a Legend. The game is full of horrifying and disgusting beings, which often jump scare at you (a well-known technique used frequently in other games with a similar theme such as Dead Island). Dying Light is also a game full of situations which require dexterity and quick reflexes. Your hero is a parkourer, jumping on buildings, cars, and structures in a beautiful and detailed landscape.
The studio responsible for creating the game is the Polish Techland. It is also known for other highly rated titles around the world, such as:
- Dead Island with its unique atmosphere of post-apocalyptic tropics, which the locations in Dying light allude to.
- or Western-themed shooters Call of Juarez and its sequel Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

The Plot of the Game
The physics, the smooth movements of the characters and the realism leave nothing to be desired. The game also abounds in many situations in which Kyle, the main character, can show off his acrobatic skills.
In Dying Light, you should develop your character by performing the quests of the main storyline and also side missions. You will also need to look for resources, including food and medicine, and search for appropriate hiding places. The hero has many types of weapons in his inventory. These mainly melee weapons, cold and blunt. The character will use firearms much less frequently. The armaments can be freely modified. By adding to them seemingly worthless items, surprisingly, you will increase the level of the damage dealt. In Dying Light, you can build traps and use in combat not only weapons but also for example … torches.
When it’s getting dark, for a moment you can admire the captivating sunset, but quickly enough you have to set your mind on escaping from the much more powerful opponents who appear in the night. Your goal is to hide in a safe hiding place. Your needs depend on your skills and the level of development of your hero.
The main character whom you control, a strong and well-trained agent Kyle Crane, upon entering the city of Harran is attacked by bloodthirsty beasts – the zombies. He is saved by a handful of survivors of the epidemic. Kyle has then a serious mission to perform. He needs to recover the lost computer files in which the structure of the virus was saved. The virus is responsible for turning people into mutants. To succeed, Kyle must find a man named Suleyman who came into possession of the file. Unfortunately, he will not part with his possession voluntarily, because he plans to use the data from the file to infect all humanity.
In the main character’s inventory, there is a radio. Its loss will mean the mission failure as Kyle will not be able to contact the people who support him. Guard this item it well. The fate of humanity is in your hands.
That’s how the story begins, for which the following DLCs have been released: The Following, The Bozak Horde, Ultimate Survivor Bundle, and Bad Blood.
