The Gameplay
Lost on Mars is a first-person shooter game that is available in single-player mode. The game offers a campaign mode that features Nick Rye as the main antagonist. Lost on Mars starts off as Nick is suddenly sucked into a spaceship that lands on Mars. Nick’s friend Hurk explains how he needs to trigger an AI called ANNE and the only way to trigger it is to find power cores and trigger its components. Hurk is basically displayed as his partner whose body is spread out throughout Mars.
One of the missions in the game is to find his missing body parts in order to combine him back to his original human form. Hurk provides the players with a basic understanding of the game and the mission. Lost on Mars features a completely new open-world map for the players to explore. The map is quite different compared to the original Far Cry 5 map. It has a high-tech environment with different equipment and labs that players can get to explore.
Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars Weapons
The game features a wide variety of weapons that can be bought using in-game money called Hemoleum. Hemoleum can be used to purchase different weapons from the AI shop however, players start off with a basic pistol and have to make progress in the game before they can unlock and purchase the rest of the guns.
These guns include:
- Pistols: Blaster of Disaster, The Obliteratorrr, Nut Hugger, Beam Guns: Lazer Blazer, Tazer Spazer Annihilazer, Morphinator,
- Rifles: Punches in Bunches, Nerve Reaper, Grape Popper,
- and Shot Guns: Iron Fister, Bulldozer, Hellfire.
Each of these weapons has different stats and the game gives the players the option to wield up to 8 weapons in total.
The Enemies
Moving on to the enemies, there are two types, the normal enemies, and the boss enemies. In each case, the players are encountered by Aliens whom they have to defeat by shooting them down using their weapons or throwables. Naturally, normal alien enemies are easier to take down compared to boss enemies who require stronger weapons along with decent armor and throwables to defeat.
The Review
Overall, Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars brings a completely different perspective to the game. The new map and environment combined with the space guns make the game seem more interesting to play. The concept of shooting down aliens is in itself, a very intriguing idea that brings something new to the table. The game is fun, entertaining, and full of shooting down aliens with awesome guns!
