The original Kindergarten was a fun game, but Kindergarten 2 is taking things to the next level. With a very dark sense of humor, some wicking retro-style graphics and a fun storyline, what we have here is one of the most fun and interesting indie games of 2019. Plus, you do not actually need to have played the first game to get into this.

The Game Review
While I say you do not need to have played the first game to enjoy this. Kindergarten 2 is set after the first game so some of the characters return. The kids have been sent to a new school and this place is kind of nuts. You relive the same day over and over again and I have heard the game compared to the movie Groundhog Day and that I think fits it pretty well.
You play as a kid who goes about there school day. You will need to complete assignments, help out other kids, deal with teachers, help out teachers and complete a ton of objectives. One thing I like much better about this game over the first is that it is no longer a “what the heck do I do now?” kind of game. You have a list of objectives that you can work through and I much prefer this.
One thing is for sure at this school, someone always needs your help. 99/100 if you screw up you die! Be it being shot by a teacher, in some kind of accident or some other hilarious way. You may think this is pretty messed up as the game is about kids. However, the dark and twisted sense of humor is a huge highlight of the game and something that legit made me laugh many times.
While there is a main story that you need to complete and this will probably take you around five hours to get through. Kindergarten 2 has a ton of things for you to do. Exploring the school and the grounds is a huge part of the game. There are these cards called Monstermon cards that you can collect and you can actually play a card game with them.
You can go to class, play dodgeball and a ton of other activities. You never have a moment’s rest in the game. I do wish actually that there was some kind of “free roam” mode where I could explore without any kind of limits as I love the world that they have created here and to explore every nook and cranny of it at my leisure would have been really awesome.
I have heard some people say that the game is too easy in comparison to its predecessor. In one way I can see that, but I actually much prefer the more generous checkpoint system and the objective system of this game over the first one. It makes it more fun and less frustrating experience all around.
If you love games that have a really wicked and dark sense of humor you will really enjoy Kindergarten 2. It is a really fun adventure that has a lot of exploration and stuff to find. Plus, when you die, it is usually pretty hilarious the way it happens. I really recommend this game if you want something more fun than usual.
