The task of the game is to find Sophia, the player’s younger sister through solving an array of difficult puzzles and disclosing mysteries about the past. The release date of this game was set on 10 May 2018 and is still subject to improvements by incorporating challenging and tougher puzzles in the upcoming months.

The Game Review
Lake Ridden is a story-driven game that is played with the character being in the first person. In this game, you play the role of a thirteen years old girl named Marie who is accompanied by her sister, Sophia to the forest in Maine, where the two girls go for camping. As everything goes smoothly in the beginning, the two sisters suddenly get into a fierce argument. Out of anger, Sophia flees into the forest making you go after her. It’s only when you start the game, and the search for your sister is when you realize that your sister is not the only one concealed in the woods but an entire forgotten village.
The game starts with a list of options which allows you to start a new, fresh adventure or select the chapter that you earlier left playing. On choosing a new game your character is immediately placed in the forest scene with a relatively easy set of controls. These allow you to make your character jump, crouch and even hold things when necessary. Lake Ridden is set in the dark and gloomy environment that does make the game look a bit scary, but there is no element of nastiness or any horrifying scenes. In fact, the background music and the sparkly effects of the torchlight give the game a more supernatural impact than a horror one.
Continuing your journey as Marie, you will have to make your way through the lonely and deserted forest and on your way find Sofia’s belongings such as her notebook or backpack which will give you hints that you are on the right track. It is essential that you remain on the path as the game allows you to climb rocks and drift away from the actual path, eventually getting you lost. The game is focused on the different puzzles and investigations that you will need to solve to progress. To solve complicated riddles, you need to try lighting candles and torches that will help you stay on track.
The different tasks include finding various objects to using the help of other characters in the game to find your way out. The game shifts you from different sites starting from the forest to a cabin then to a camp, and back to the woods each setting disclosing a set of objects, codes, and hints that will help you complete the game. The game saves your progress automatically.
