In Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry you get pretty much the same cheekiness and sauciness, all while staying away from stereotypes. You will have some fun moments in the game such as Larry trying to find sex partners via an app called Timber and so on. In addition, they strived to make the game world similar to our society, all while still allowing it to live on its own with its great appeal.
The art style is what really makes the game stand out at first. You have the amazing art style that has been a part of the series for a very long time. But it’s reorganized in a way that makes it stand out even more. The illustrations are extraordinary, and the animations are spot on for a game like this.
They did make a few changes, this time Larry is taller and slimmer when compared to previous games. Considering that the game works on high-resolution screens without a problem, they had to make some changes. And honestly this is not a massive change, you will stop noticing very fast actually.
We liked the fact that you can just press Space and they will automatically show all the items that you can use and interact with. There’s also a pixel hunting option here that does bring in a bit of a challenge to the game as you go along. It’s always a good idea to add something new, and in this case, finding new items just by pushing a button is easier. It saves a lot of time if you do want to interact with everything in the room. Yet they added it cleverly here because this won’t take away from the challenge that a lot of people want when it comes to solving puzzles.
It’s important to note that the game’s max resolution is Full HD. You can’t play it in 4K without scaling, which is a bit of a bummer. But this does make the game experience a lot more rewarding and better than before.
If you love point and click games, especially the old school ones, you will love Wet Dreams Don’t Dry as well. The game has lots of puzzles, some of which do require you to be very ingenious. It’s a game that doesn’t require a lot of hardware resources, but at the same time, it retains the quirkiness and fun that made those previous games so good and interesting in the first place. If you liked the other games in the series, you will find Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry a ton of fun. Even if you are a newcomer, the fun story and nice characters will draw you in!
