Sam & Max Save the World Remastered

Sam & Max Save the World Remastered is a truly awesome game, it really is. This is a series that dates back the better part of 30 years! This game is a remaster of the 2006 title that was put out by Telltale Games. As they are no more, Skunkape Games are the ones that worked their magic to bring the game to PC and the Nintendo Switch.

The Game Review

Long time fans will be pleased to know that the majority of the heart and soul of the game has been kept intact. There are a few small changes, most notably one of the voice actors has been completely changed. However, I would say that unless you analyzed every little bit of dialogue of the original, most people will not notice the small changes that were made.

In case you did not know, Sam & Max Save the World Remastered is a point and click adventure game and it is one of the best to be made. The game stars Sam and Max who are two independent cops that are always on the lookout for a new case. This game actually has six cases (episodes) for you to solve.

What I liked about this format was that while each episode has its own beginning, middle, and end. There is an over-arcing story through all the episodes that involves something about people getting hypnotized! I will not say any more than that and I highly recommend that if you have not played the original, you read as little about the story as possible.

A huge part of what makes Sam & Max Save the World Remastered so great is the writing and voice acting. This game has so many different and funny parodies that I do not know where to start! I do not think there is a bad performance in the whole game and it all builds this fantastic world that gets you very invested in this crazy world.

The gameplay is that of your typical point-and-click adventure. You move around an area, interact with things, people, and so on to move things forward. You can pick up items and use them with a specific person or other items. The puzzles that are here are not all that cryptic so there is very little if any frustration when playing. You can press a button and it will tell you all of the things that you can interact with and this does help.

What those who played the original game will notice first of all are the gorgeous visuals. This game looks like it could be a TV show. The different environments have a ton of detail to them and it is so well done that I would probably have a tough time going back and playing the original!

I think that Sam & Max Save the World Remastered is one of the best remasters I have played in quite some time. They have made a game that is great for long time fans and also for those experiencing this duo for the very first time. I highly recommend that you check this one out, you will not be disappointed.
