ATOM RPG: Post-Apocalyptic indie game is a downloadable title produced and developed by AtomTeam. Inspired by the likes of Fallout, Wasteland, System Shock, Deus Ex, and Baldur’s Gate, it was officially released on 19th December 2018.

The Game Review
As its name suggests, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world caused by nuclear bombings at events that took place in 1986.
ATOM RPG features a storyline where both the Soviet Union and the Western Bloc were destroyed as part of the nuclear war. The players get to play as one of the survivors of the holocaust as they aim to uncover a dark conspiracy taking place under the radar. The game is available to play on the platforms of Windows and Mac OS X. It can be downloaded through Steam.
The game only offers a single-player mode in the form of a campaign. Before the actual gameplay can begin, players are required to select a character who they will control and traverse with, till the very end.
Character Creation
ATOM RPG has a very detailed character creation mode with players having the power to completely control their skills, attributes, and weaknesses. There are a number of characters to choose from, with each one having its own unique ability.
Despite selecting which one they prefer, players can further customize and toggle with points controlling a number of characteristics associated with the character including Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Intellect, Attention, Personality, and Luck.
Additionally, players also have the option to decide the skills that they can use to defend themselves and progress in the game. These skills involve handling rifles, melee weapons, martial arts, gambling, survival, sneaking, lockpicking, technology, and many more. Once character creation and customization are complete, players can move on ahead to the actual gameplay.
Combat
ATOM RPG features a traditional turn-based combat system. This particular attribute is inspired by Fallout and Fallout 2. It has both its advantages and disadvantages, however, considering the environment of the game, one can admit that a turn-based combat system would be suitable.
What actually counts the most in this system is the skills that were set up previously during character customization. The level of defense and offense mainly depends upon the skillset the character holds.
The World in ATOM RPG
Apart from its combat, the game is also renowned for its diverse locations. In a state of an apocalypse, it is essential that players get to explore and discover other survivors whom they can become allies with.
These allies can further evolve to create settlements where life can gradually grow. ATOM RPG gives freedom to the players in terms of who they would want to ally with. Players can go venture into the wild and encounter numerous individuals including bandits, dwellers, and creatures.
Considerations
Apart from the gameplay, it is also important to know that the game is not meant for players of all ages. ATOM RPG contains strong language and discussions of alcohol, tobacco, and that are sexual in nature.
