Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic might be an old game by today’s standards, but it continues to push the boundaries and bring you a great STAR WARS story. The game takes place around 4000 years before the original trilogy and it comes with some pretty interesting ideas.

The Game Review

In KOTOR, you are in a new territory, although you can explore some familiar locations too. There are some interesting systems here that make the game super interesting and impressive.

One of those is the companion system. You get to meet a lot of new characters and parties that you can join. This just helps make the experience more fun and interesting, because you get to build up those characters and interact with them.

The Story

Then you have the story which is pretty much an amazing way to delve into the unknown parts of the STAR WARS lore. It’s a new, refreshing story and every mission including the side ones are very well built. Based on the dialog and actions you can go either to the light or dark side, and the leveling system helps you build up your character the way you want to.

The Graphics

The thing to note here is that the graphics didn’t age amazingly well, but that’s expected from a game this old. Yet the most important thing about this game is that it always pushes the boundaries, it encourages you to experiment with weapons and you are always encountering new enemies. It does an amazing job with the lore as a whole and it just gets better and better all the time as you choose to play it.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: the Choices

That being said, we like the fact that this is a true RPG. Choices matter in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and every tiny mistake can cost you a lot. It just puts a lot of focus on what you do and the potential mistakes that you make. It’s not always going to be a simple experience, sometimes it can be full of challenges and that’s the most rewarding aspect of it all as you can imagine.

You’re never pushed to choose any option. They give you all the freedom you want to build your character as you see fit. And since locations are varied and quite large, you are bound to spend a lot of time on every planet. Sure, we would definitely want to see some more in the case of locations, but for the most part, you do get a lot of stuff.
