Man, I have not used a BitTorrent client in years! Well, FrostWire is currently one of the most popular BitTorrent clients around and it also gives you P2P downloading, works as a “cloud downloader” and has its own media player. This is the kind of thing that is not for everyone, but I had fun messing around with it and seeing what it could do.

The Program Review
This is completely free to use and they aim to keep your computer as safe as possible, but if I have learned anything from using software like this it is you do so at your own risk so, please keep that in mind. I know things are more secure than they were years ago with services like this, but I still would exercise caution.
You can use this software on many systems. It is available for Windows 10, Mac, Linux, and there is even an Android version of FrostWire too. If you have used any kind of BitTorrent service before, you will feel right at home with FrostWire. The way it works is that you do a search for what you want, let’s just say a certain album you are interested in.
It will then find the file for you from the other people who have it and you then download it. There is a little bit of a learning curve in using this, but after a few downloads, you will be a pro and have it all figured out. I was impressed with the number of others that were using this, making finding what I want nice and easy.
You can actually search for files directly via the app which is great. The service I used many years ago I had to search on a website and then it would open the app. This makes searching and downloading much more convenient and it actually kind of takes out a whole step that I was doing before.
Let’s say there is a band you like with an album you are interested in, but you only want to have a couple of songs from that album. With FrostWire, you can click the album and then select the individual files that you want to download. You can even preview stuff before you download it.
I so wish I had the ability to preview files back in the day. The number of times I would download something and have it be fake or the wrong thing was crazy, there is far, far less chance of that happening with FrostWire. This alone is enough of a reason to switch over to this if you ask me.
There is also a built-in media player with FrostWire. It is not the greatest media player I have used, but if you have just downloaded something, you can quickly play it via the internal media player rather than firing up Windows Media Player or whatever else it is that you use on your computer.
I am not so sure that as many people require a service like this as they did 10 or so years ago. However, I can say that FrostWire is one of the best of this type of software I have ever used. It has many features and it as far as these things go, this is one of the easiest that I have used.
