If the name Vuze sounds familiar you may remember that it was originally called, Azureus. It has been one of the biggest torrent clients for nearly 20 years by this point and I recently put the latest version of it through its paces. Granted these days downloading movies, TV shows, and so on via torrents is not as common as it was 10 years ago, but this is probably the best way you can do it.

The Program Review

There are two versions of Vuze available. There is a free version which is supported with ads, very annoying ads I might add! It is also more limited in terms of letting you play a file before it is fully downloaded. The premium offering is called Vuze Plus and it is a far better option.

It has different pricing options available to you, the most expensive being if you just pay for one month as it is $9.99. If you were to sign up for 12 months, it costs you a very reasonable $3.99. They do also have a 6-month option which will cost you $4.99 per month which again is not an unreasonable amount to ask.

Vuze Plus does have some features that make it well worth the money. To start with, it gets rid of all those intrusive and annoying ads. It also lets you preview a file after only a tiny bit of it has been downloaded. This is a great feature as if you are downloading a movie, you can check to see if the quality is good before you have downloaded a lot of it. It also has fantastic antivirus software built-in, that alone makes it worth the money to me.

Both versions share the same other features and I can say that Vuze is one of the most feature-rich torrent clients I have ever used! While I never dabbled in this, you do have the option to add various plug-ins to it if you so wish. There is a handy torrent search feature that is all done in the actual Vuze program which helps keeps things safe and it is massive, I can hand on heart say that it found everything I asked it to find!

There is a very cool download subscription (or RSS feed support if you prefer) that is a real time saver. Let’s say there is a show you like, for me, it was The Flash, with this feature, it would automatically download any new episodes that were added. You can even download an accompanying app if you have an android phone and control Vuze when you are not home.

There is also a built-in HD media player which is great and at first, I did not use it as I was set in my ways. However, eventually, it was just so easy to do everything, including watching what I had downloaded through Vuze that I did use it a great deal.

If you are someone who still regularly downloads torrents then Vuze is for you. I would say that you are best just going for the Vuze Plus as getting rid of the ads and having that extra level of antivirus protection is more than worth the money. I hand on heart cannot see how a torrent client could be better than what this offers!

Vuze is a popular BitTorrent client and it lets you download and upload files using its protocol. Download it now.
