The Review
Currently, there is the better part of 1 million apps that are available on the Aptoide app store! You may be wondering what is the point in using Aptoide if you are already happy with the Google Play Store? Well, everything that you download on the Aptoide app is 100 percent free!
This means games or apps that you would normally pay for on the Google Play Store can be downloaded for free through here. Of course, there is a bit of a moral issue here as if you want to support a team of developers then you may not be comfortable with doing this. However, you could always use this as a way to “try” an app before you give them your money.
One of the things that really appealed to me about the Aptoide App Store is the way that it is not region locked. There are some cool games only released in Japan that have never been released in the West. With this app, I can download them and play my way through them so in that regard this app is really cool.
While I love the idea of the Aptoide App Store and have managed to download a few cool games that I would not have been able to otherwise. There is a concern with an app like this. That, of course, is the fact that anyone can pretty much upload an app to this thing! This does raise some security concerns and to be fair it is something that the Aptoide team have been working hard on.
For example, they now have a verified app system where apps that are proven to be safe and genuine will have a green tick. I would advise only downloading apps that are verified. Of course, you can download what you want, but then you are doing so at your own risk. While most apps will be fine, you do still have to be vigilant with what you are downloading.
I downloaded the app onto my phone through the official site and it was easy enough to do. Using the actual store was nice and easy and I just searched out some of the apps I knew I was interested in. Apps are also listed in various categories. Basically, if you have used something like the Google Play Store, you will be able to use this easily enough.
The Aptoide App Store is a really cool idea. I like how you can download apps from all over the world and in this regard the app is awesome. Of course, the whole “piracy” debate is one that will be different for every person, but you could look at this as a way to try apps you might want to later download through the Google Play Store.
