Being a huge fan of the franchise, I was very excited for Alien: Earth, which in the UK, where I live, is a Disney Plus exclusive. I think it is airing on Hulu in other parts of the world. Let me get this out of the way, I freaking loved this show, and it is up there as one of my favorite things from the Alien franchise!
Where to Watch Alien: Earth

Full Review of Alien: Earth – A Fan’s Perspective
Excepct for Alien: Covenant, I have enjoyed all of the movies, I have had a blast with many of the comic book series, the video games, and I collected the Alien vs. Predator action figures in the 90s! This is a franchise that I just truly do adore, and I think I may have to put Alien: Earth at the very top of my Alien fandom now that I really think about it. I was waiting for all eight episodes to air, so I could binge-watch them, and I did just that over the course of a couple of days.
Personal Thoughts on the Timing and Viewing Experience
On a personal note, this came at the perfect time for me! The Saturday afternoon before, I watched episodes 7 and 8 in the evening, I went to see The Strangers: Chapter 2, and it sucked big time, so this was the perfect palate cleanser. Right from the first episode, Alien: Earth sets the tone perfectly. We are on a spaceship that has been sent to the far reaches of space by the Weyland-Yutani corporation. In this world, Earth is now run by several corporations.
Plot Breakdown of Alien: Earth and Key Characters
This was not just some kind of research mission. This vessel was sent to space to find and bring back several alien lifeforms, including face huggers and, as you know, face huggers equal Xenomorphs! There are several other alien life forms, including this eyeball one, which is just so damn awesome and one of my favorite parts of the show, with how intelligent it was.
The Prodigy Corporation and Boy Kavalier’s Role
Well, this vessel crashes into the Prodigy Corporation’s territory and their leader, the young and super smart Boy Kavalier, sends his team to get the lifeforms for him self. Now, a twist here is that the Boy Kavalier has a series of hybrids that are synths who have had human consciousnesses from children with incurable illnesses, put into them. However, they may have the mind of a child, but they have an adult body.
Meet the Lost Boys and Wendy – Hybrid Synths in Action
This team of hybrids is named after The Lost Boys from Peter Pan, and they are led by the first, Wendy. They manage to get the specimens, but not without severe casualties, and as you would expect, even once they have them, things do not go smoothly. To be honest with you, I am kind of skimming over the plot as there is a lot, and I mean a lot, going on here.
Wendy’s Connection with Xenomorphs and the Final Showdown
Wendy has a thing going with her brother, who is shocked to discover that she is alive and also a hybrid, but Wendy also has the ability to communicate with the Xenomorph! Add to this that the cyborg security chief of the Weyland-Yutani corporation has been tasked with getting the Xenomorph at any cost, and it all builds up to an epic final episode that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Why Alien: Earth Is the Best TV Show of the Year
I am so glad that I was able to avoid spoilers over the last few weeks and go into Alien: Earth as blind as possible, as this is easily up there as my best TV show of the year! From the first episode, all the way to the end, this gripped me! However, Disney has not made any kind of announcement regarding a season 2 as of writing; apparently, they are waiting to see how this does. That means if they do make a season 2, it is probably at least a few years away! Still, right now, we have these eight episodes, and there is not a bad one in the bunch!
