I was a big fan of the biography of rapper Notorious BIG that George Tillman Jr did so I was interested to see his biopic about boxing legend George Foreman. This was a movie that I had to go and see by myself as my wife was not feeling this one at all from the trailers! I will remember that next time there is some god-awful movie she tries to drag me to!

The Movie Review
George Forman is a man that I do actually have a bit of history with. My uncle David got me the George Forman boxing game for Sega back in Christmas of 92! Plus, during my college years of 2003 to 2005, I had a George Forman Grill and that thing was amazing and got me through college without putting on a ton of weight!
What we have here with Big George Forman is a really hard-hitting and feel-good kind of underdog story. It is a story of a man who went from rags to riches, back to rags, and then back to riches again. He is a big man that has a big heart and it is impossible not to get behind him and really want to see him succeed.
We get many of the “big hits” of George Forman’s life here, seeing him growing up in poverty and deciding to become a boxer was very well done. I did not really know anything about him before he was a star, so seeing this shown and explained was something that I appreciated.
We get to see him go from the Olympics to the famous Rumble in the Jungle which was a major highlight of the movie. However, what I liked best about Big George Foreman was when he decided to retire and find his faith and live his life in a more “meaningful” kind of way.
He ends up suffering some real financial hard times and ends up back in the boxing ring! This is such a great comeback kind of story and the movie showcases this so incredibly well. I of course got a massive kick out of the whole Forman Grill stuff that was here and I know it sounds crazy, but I would have loved to have seen even more of that.
We have a fantastic cast in Big George Forman with Khris Davis as George Forman leading the thing and doing a wonderful job doing so. It is a very well-acted movie and I can see some people winning some major awards for their work here, I got a real kick out of seeing Forest Whitaker here as I have enjoyed his work since I was a kid.
At the end of the day, Big George Foreman is a biopic and I am sure if you are a huge fan of his, there will be nothing new to shock you here. However, I have to say this is a very well-told story and a story that has a real underdog thing going for it that I loved. Perhaps the best compliment I can give this is that the runtime is over two hours, but it flew by as it was so entertaining.
