I watched Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle for the first time in many, many years and I freaking loved it! This is a fun and wild time and the perfect movie if you want something fun where you can just turn your brain off for a couple of hours. I think that both the early 00s Charlie’s Angels movies are good, but I much prefer the sequel over the first, but from what I understand, I am very much in the minority on this.

The Movie Review
A huge part of what makes Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle such a fun movie is the cast of our Angels. We have Cameron Diaz as Natalie, Lucy Lui as Alex, and Drew Barrymore as Dylan. These ladies are all likable in their own way and I think that they do a good job of fleshing the characters out more, especially Dylan.
The Cast and Characters
The rest of the cast is just as good. Going from Bill Murry to Burnie Mac as Bosley is a little weird, but hey, Burnie Mac does an awesome job here and is a lot of fun. We also have, Demi Moore as the villain and I remember the big deal when this movie came out about how stunning Demi Moore still looked. She is awesome here as an ex Angel gone bad and a major highlight of the movie.
Plot Synopsis
We do have a great supporting cast here, but you cannot bring this movie up to my wife without her mentioning how much she hates the small role Tom Green has in this movie. However, we also have the likes of Justin Theroux, Robert Patrick, Crispin Glover, Matt LeBlanc, Luke Wilson, and a young Shia LeBouef all in this movie!
I will be honest and say that the plot here…. Does not really matter. Basically, a device that contains all the real names of people in the witness protection program goes missing and witnesses are turning up dead! We also have some stuff with Dylan’s past coming back to haunt her and her friends too.
Style Over Substance
The plot is an excuse to put the Angels into various situations where we get to see them looking hot, doing cool stuff, and showing off their various skills. I have no problem with this whatever! Not every movie has to be Citizen Kane! Sometimes a movie can just be fun and that is exactly what this is.
Legacy and Reception
From the start with the awesome scene with the blood-pumping beats of Rage Against the Machine to the awesome motocross racing scene. This is a movie that is 100 percent style over substance, but sometimes style is more than enough to keep you entertained.
Charlie’s Angels Video Game
Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle is one of those movies that is not trying to be more than it is! If you want a movie with depth that is going to make you think, this is not for you! However, if you want something that is fun, has awesome action scenes, and has plenty of likable characters, it is not easy to top this in that regard. It is a real shame we never got to see these ladies play these parts one more time after this!
Oh, before I sign off, I have to talk about one more thing and that is the Charlie’s Angels video game that came out shortly after the movie. Being high on the movie, I picked up the Game Cube version of Charlie’s Angels. The Charlie’s Angels video game is one of the worst video games, not just movie tie in games, but video games in general that I have ever wasted my money on! I am still kind of mad about it now!
