Disclosure Day

I knew that Disclosure Day was going to be a movie that I loved. Right from the first trailer I saw for it, I knew that there was no way this was not a movie for me. I have always loved anything to do with aliens, UFO’s, The X-Files, and unexplained phenomena. Plus, like most people, I love the majority of Steven Spielberg’s work. I just did not see any way that this movie would not click with me.

Where to Watch Disclosure Day

Disclosure Day was released on June 12, 2026. You can stream the film from a digital platform such as Peacock.

The Movie Review

Stellar Lead Performances & Ensemble Cast

Not only that, we have a great cast here with Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, and especially the amazing Colman Domingo, all being actors that I love. I also have to shout out one of our co-leads, Josh O’Connor, who was also fantastic. Everyone they got for this movie nailed their parts, and I am not exaggerating when I say this movie had me hooked right from the very start.

A Teasing, Spoiler-Free Premise

There will be no spoilers here as I feel that the movie will be far more enjoyable the less you know about it. Actually, the Disclosure Day trailer I feel did a great job in keeping things vague, but also showing just a hint of the good stuff that they know people would want to see in order to entice them into the theatre, and my theatre was actually pretty packed when I went to see this.

Daniel and Margaret: On the Run for Extraterrestrial Truth

We have two main characters here. First of all, we have Daniel, who works for a company that is a shady US government agency that is reverse-engineering UFO and alien technology. Daniel comes across this, steals a device and a ton of files, and now he is on the run. I thought that Daniel was a very likable character.

Our other lead is Margaret. Margaret is a TV meteorologist who one day just starts speaking in a strange language, a language that is revealed to be alien! Again, no spoilers here, but Daniel and Margaret end up meeting each other, and they are then thrust into this adventure where they become key parts in the mission to disclose the truth about extraterrestrial life. Yes, this is pretty much what Fox Mulder was trying to do for several years in the 90s!

Colin Firth as an X-Files-Style Antagonist

Speaking of The X-Files. Opposing our plucky duo of Margaret and Daniel is Colin Firth’s Noah Scanlon of the evil Wardex Corporation, who is pretty much just like Cancer Man from The X-Files. I thought that he was a great antagonist, and I honestly believed that he would stop at nothing to conceal the truth.

Pure Spielberg Magic & A Masterful John Williams Score

By the way, this is not an action movie, but there are a couple of action scenes that are just pure Spielberg magic, and they had me on the edge of my seat! This movie is way more thrilling than people are giving it credit for. Sure, many are saying it is good, but not enough are talking about how exciting it is. A huge part of what keeps things tense and exciting is the fantastic John Williams score. I was mind-blown to find out that he is in his 90s and can still work like this; it is truly very impressive.

Shocking Ending & 4K Worthy Rewatchability

Disclosure Day comes in at a little under the two and a half hour mark, but this movie flew by faster than a UFO. I was pretty much locked in right from the start, and the movie did not let go until that very shocking ending. This is one of those movies that I know for 100 percent certainty I will be picking up on 4K when it is released. Although I do wonder just how hard it will hit on a second viewing when I know everything that is going to happen.
