Because of my son (who was a few years younger at the time), G-Force is one of those movies that I have probably seen 100 times! While it was not exactly the biggest box office success or a critical darling, I think the movie does have a lot of charm. It is a spy thriller kid’s movie with talking animals, but it manages to be fun for the whole family.

The Movie Review
The plot of G-Force is about this secret team of agents that just so happen to be animals. We have three guinea pigs, Darwin, Blaster, and Juarez who are the elite infiltration team in this secret government agency. They have their guy in the chair, the tech wiz Speckles who is a mole and there is a recon type of agent called Mooch who is a fly.
These critters are led by a human called Ben who sends them on an unauthorized mission. This unauthorized mission sends them to the mansion of an electronics millionaire called Leonard Saber who is working with the mysterious Mr. Yanshu. Sabre’s electronic appliances are all going to be connected to each other thanks to a fancy new tech.
This fancy new tech though has been infiltrated and the world is in grave danger! While Ben sent his team on this unauthorized mission with the best intent. His superiors get mad, shut down G-Force, and send the animals to a pet store! The animals know that they have to get out in order to save the world.
I love the scenes in the pet store, we get to meet Darwin’s long-lost brother Hurley, Bucky a crazy hamster, and a set of three weird mice too. Hurley has to join forces with his brother to try and get back to Blaster and Juarez so that they can get to the bottom of this and stop the Sabre electronics uprising before it happens.
Look, is G-Force a masterpiece of cinema? Clearly, it is not, but it is still a fun time and a great movie to put on if you want to have a family movie night. I will admit that I did not see the twist coming right at the end and I think that was pretty well done. For a kid’s spy movie, there are a lot of twists and turns and to be honest with you as much as I liked that, perhaps it is too much for younger children?
I could see some younger kids coming into this thinking it was just a fun animal movie, but losing interest in the plot. The animals all have a realistic look to them too, not your typical Disneyfied style that Disney movies tend to give animals. Again, this could be something that makes younger children lose interest.
While I would not say that this is one of my favorite Disney movies. I will say that G-Force is far better than a lot of people give it credit for. This is coming from a guy whose son made him watch it over and over again! This is on Disney Plus and if you have never watched it, I do feel it is worth giving a try, especially if you want to watch something fun with the kids.
