I really could not have been any more in with John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (which was released in May 2019). If you like Taken you will like John Wick was what a friend of mine said back when the first movie was released. I do think that is a fair comparison, but let me tell you I would mess with Bryan Mills way before I messed with John Wick!

The Movie Review
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum ups the ante in pretty much every way you could imagine. The first movie was great, John Wick was a total badass and the action was truly immense. I felt like they were going for that perfect blend of action that makes you say wow, but at the same time being a bit more on the realistic side.
This movie throws that out of the window and it is one of the most over-the-top and fun action movies I have seen in quite some time. Everyone is pretty much after John Wick this time around… I am not going to spoil it, but in the lore of the movie John Wick has done something that is frowned upon, and now everyone is after him.
Seeing John Wick fight for his life is truly a sight to behold. One of the things that I really like about this movie is the way it shows what a tough guy, John Wick really is. After the last two movies, we already know that John Wick can kick some serious ass. This time we see him get beaten up pretty badly, but he never stays down.
The lore of the universe of John Wick was something I found intriguing as soon as we saw the hotel and the way he used those old-timey coins to pay for stuff. John Wick 3 dives deeper into the lore as well showing some of his backstory which I thought was not only well done. It also fleshed out John Wick as a character much more.
Speaking of characters, the movie brings back some of the cooler ones from the past movies. The clerk from the hotel (Charon) in particular is a real favorite of mine. What is really well done though is the way that the movie introduces new characters. Characters who you do actually think are cool and want to see more of.
Halle Berry’s Sofia is tremendous and I actually found myself wishing she was in the movie as she played such a great part. I would probably go as far as to say that this is my favorite role of hers. Zero who is played by Marc Dacascos is the big bad assassin of the movie and I loved it whenever he had a moment on screen.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is more over the top and crazy than the last two movies put together. It is a wild ride and one that is a true joy to be part of. I love how they expanded the lore of this world and the new characters they introduce, I really hope to see a lot more from in the next movie.
