The more I think about it, the more I am sure that London Has Fallen is my favorite out of the “Fallen” trilogy of movies. For this second movie, Babak Najafi takes over directing duties, but he clearly understood the assignment! If you liked the first movie, I do not see there being any way that you will not like this!

London Has Fallen: A Thrilling Favorite – A Movie Review
However, with that being said, if you did not like Olympus Has Fallen (and there were many who did not) there is no way that you will like this! I say that because, London Has Fallen is a very similar movie, but it kicks everything up several notches especially the violence and the balls-to-the-wall action. I still find it crazy that the violence and the fact these movies are just all about action are things that “experts” criticize!

Like its predecessor, London Has Fallen is a classic style action movie. Once again, we have Gerrard Butler as Mike Banning and Aaron Eckhart as President Asher. Much of the cast from the first movie such as Angela Bassett and Morgan Freeman, who has now been bumped up to Vice President have returned as well.
The stakes were already high in Olympus Has Fallen, but they feel even higher here. Special forces launched an attack on the FBI’s most wanted terrorist Aamir Barkawi which killed pretty much everyone, including his daughter. However, wouldn’t you know it, Barkawi survived and he is out for a whole lot of blood and revenge!
Unfolding Chaos: London Under Siege
The British Prime Minister dies under rather strange circumstances and this brings the G7 leaders to London for his funeral. President Asher is attending and he, of course, is accompanied by Mike Banning. Mike being the smart guy that he is, decides to deviate from the original plan for them flying into London and this would prove to be a very wise decision.
Turns out that this was a setup and that Barkawi was not killed and he is out for revenge. Barkawi’s terrorist group takes over London, killing several world leaders and bringing the city and country to its knees. The whole takeover of London is awesome and so incredibly well done!
As Mike and President Asher have managed to escape the initial ambush they are now on the run, trying to survive and also get a handle on what is going on. Mike wants to get the President to safety, but when there is a mole in the Secret Service working for the terrorists, it is easier said than done.
A Nostalgic Action Ride
I freaking love this movie! I grew up in the 80s and 90s and this movie feels like something I would have watched back then. I can see why those who are not into action movies would think that this is a bit too much. However, I give them a ton of credit here as I do feel like they managed to raise the stakes and add a bit more “mystery” to the whole thing as well. Just like the first movie, London Has Fallen is a movie that I can watch on any occasion and always have a fun time with.
