2026 is off to a great start with some really cool movies that I have had a lot of fun watching, and Send Help is one that we can add to the list. Brought to us by Sam Raimi, this is a very tense, exciting, and even in some places, funny thriller that gripped me right from the start. I will say that the trailer you see is pretty much the movie. Usually, I would complain about that, but Send Help does what it does so well that it is still very entertaining.
Where to Watch Send Help
Send Help was released on January 30, 2026. You should expect it to become available for streaming on Hulu or Disney Plus a couple of months later.
The Movie Review
There is a solid cast here, but the movie is all about Rachel McAdams’s Linda and Dylan O Brian’s Bradly. These two have great chemistry, and not “oh, they fall in love and are so good together” kind of chemistry. There is just something about this pairing that works and works very, very well.
Ok, so you know that the movie is about two people being stuck on an island, but there is some setup to this. Linda is a hardworking cog in a big business machine, and she is due for a promotion, a promotion that she deserves. The thing with Linda is, is that she is not this super nice and pie and easy to like character. She is kind of weird and awkward, and Rachel McAdams plays her very well.
Her boss, Bradly, pretty much only got the position he is in because of his father! Well, Bradly decides to give the job to one of his fraternity buddies, and he is just a jerk to Linda. Hey, we have all worked for an absolute asshole boss, so there is something very relatable to the situation Linda has found herself in, even if she is a little bit on the weird side.
It is so easy to hate Bradly! Bradly is such an unlikable character, and he has this obnoxious laugh that will just make you want to punch him in the face. Dylan O Brian really could not have played this role any better. You can tell that he was clearly having a ton of fun when he got to play such a jerk character.
Bradly, Linda, and a few others are flying to Bangkok to try to finalize this big merger. Well, you know what happens, as it is the premise of the movie. The plane has some trouble, it ends up crashing, and Linda and Bradly find themselves marooned on this island. Before this, the movie does a great job of showing just why Linda is more suited to this situation than Bradly.
From here, we see the dynamic between these two dramatically shift as Bradly is no longer in charge of Linda, and she is the one with all the power on this island as they fight for survival. No spoilers here, and I highly recommend that you go into the movie as blindly as possible, as while the premise is revealed in the trailer, there were some really neat surprises and twists here.
Oh, I also have to say that this is 100 percent a Sam Raimi movie. If you are familiar with Sam Raimi and you did not know he was behind this movie, you would know just by the way the movie is shot and the general tone. Hey, that is meant as a massive compliment, as his signature style is something that I am a massive fan of.
Send Help was a fantastic time; I had a blast while watching this, and I felt that the pacing was pretty much perfect. This was one of those movies that just zoomed by as I was having so much fun. This is a very easy recommendation, and if it is still on at your theatre as you read this, I highly recommend making the effort to go and see it.
