Spider-Man: Homecoming is a Marvel superhero action-adventure film co-produced by both Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios. The film features Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Michael Keaton as Vulture, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark, and Zendaya as Michelle. The film is directed by Jon Watts and focuses on the life of a young Peter Parker who has just recently been inducted part-time into the Avengers.

The Film Review
Working directly under the supervision of Tony Stark, Peter Parker fights crime during his time off from high school. In one of his encounters with criminals, Spiderman discovers Toomes, also known as Vulture, to be selling dangerous weapons to criminals. Going against Tony Stark’s orders, Spider-Man tries to confront and take down Vulture and his allies on numerous occasions to the point where Tony Stark finds out and takes away his new suit.
However, after finding out how Vulture is trying to hijack the plane containing all of the Avengers’ powerful weapons, Spider-Man must now use his old suit and try to stop Vulture from succeeding.
The movie was released on 28th June 2017 and managed to strike up to $880 million in the box office.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is the second reboot of the Spiderman series which was carried out after the cancellation of The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Marvel had been planning a Spider-Man reboot ever since 2014. Marvel had provided details regarding the character of Peter Parker as to how they wanted an actor that was younger than Andrew Garfield, the previous version of Peter.
After interviewing more than a thousand actors and much speculation, Marvel and Sony jointly decided that Tom Holland would be the next Peter Parker who would act alongside the veteran, Robert Downey Jr. Despite the initial negative response by critics, the 19-year-old young actor proved his worth after giving a performance that simply wowed the audience. Even critics were forced to admit that Holland’s personality matched the description of Spider-Man in the comic books and how his personality managed to be impactful in lifting up the Spider-Man franchise once again.
Moving on to the film graphics, the visual effects were mainly carried out by Sony Pictures Imageworks, Method Studios, and Luma Pictures. Apart from some of Tom Holland’s own original stunts performed, the visual graphics display played a big part in making Spider-Man who he is.
According to the film’s visual effects supervisor, Theo Bialek, most of the action scenes between Spider-Man and Vulture were shot against a screen consisting of green plates.
This screen, in turn, became the foundation on which his team could build the computer-generated characters and their relevant effects. Bialek also claimed that over 300 shots were taken before the effects were implied onto the film out of which 100 were directly shot to display an entirely computer-generated Spider-Man.
The official soundtrack of the film was released by Sony Masterworks and was composed by Michael Giacchino.
The film overall has been an impactful addition to the Marvel universe. Having been the best superhero film of 2017, a sequel – Spider-Man Far from Home was scheduled for 2019 with new villains on board, giving the fans something to look forward to.
