The Book of Boba Fett sure did have a lot to live up to coming on the heels of the phenomenal second season of The Mandalorian. Like many Star Wars fans, Boba Fett is one of my favorite characters and a show that is built around him was something that I was very excited about.

The Movie Review
Getting Temuera Morrison back as Fett was a great move and he is awesome in the role. Boba Fett along with Fennec Shand head to Tatooine where he wants to basically take over from The Hutts and become the new “Daimyo”. There is an illegal spice operation running on Tatooine by the Pyke Syndicate and Boba Fett is not cool with this.
It is pretty awesome how we have this Star Wars TV universe. The Book of Boba Fett crosses over with The Mandalorian and the upcoming Ahsoka TV show as well. I do think that this show is a much slower burn than The Mandalorian, but it is still fun and entertaining.
Seeing Boba Fett come out of the Sarlac Pit and be taken in by the Sand People and becoming one of them was really cool. I also liked how it expanded on the friendship he has with Fennec Shand who has become a real favorite character of mine. Speaking of characters, this show has a great lineup.
We get to see Timothy Oliphant get more time to shine as Cobb Vanth and he is awesome as the sheriff. The biggest new addition that made me geek and freak out big time was seeing Cad Bane in live-action form and he did not disappoint. While I liked The Book of Boba Fett, I have to say that the latter half of the show is better.
Actually, the show gets so much better once The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Luke, and co all come into play. The final three episodes of The Book of Boba Fett are a Star Wars fan’s dream! We get to see Grogu training in the ways of The Jedi, we get to see Luke and Ahsoka and it is just so much fun.
The thing is and I hate to say this, the best stuff in the show I felt does not really have much if anything to do with Boba Fett. Boba Fett does get his time to shine in the last episode, is there a cooler site than Boba Fett riding a Rancor into battle? However, I do think that the show got so much better when he was not the full focus of what was going on.
I thought that The Book of Boba Fett was a good show at the start and it ended up being a great one. It does require a bit more patience than The Mandalorian does, but those last three episodes are some of the best stuff that Disney has done with the Star Wars license. I have watched the series twice, but I have watched those last three episodes about five times!
While I think anyone can enjoy The Mandalorian, I do feel that this one asks you to be more of a Star Wars fan to truly appreciate it. However, if you were not a Star Wars die-hard fan before The Mandalorian and got won over by that, The Book of Boba Fett is going to be something you can really enjoy and sink your teeth into as well.
