Today we are going to be taking a closer look at Kodi formerly known as XBMC Media Center. I know what you are thinking, Kodi is the thing people use to stream movies, TV shows, and stuff without paying for it! While there is certainly that aspect of Kodi and if you go by what is in the news that is all people use it for. Truth be told, Kodi is one of the best multimedia streamers out there!

The Program Review
We can in no way condone people using Kodi to illegally stream movies and TV shows, but that is what many people do use it for. I though think that Kodi is a tremendous way to keep your movies, music, and photos all organized in one place. If you are using Kodi on your computer, for example, it becomes the ultimate multimedia tool that allows you to keep your stuff all together and just the way you want it.
You can then use it to stream to your TV and enjoy your media on the big screen. You can also get Kodi on devices such as an Amazon Fire TV Stick or an iPad, but these do require a little working around. I always find it funny when I read about a “Kodi Box” that is destroying the entertainment industry and leading to millions of people getting thrown in jail as there is no such thing as a “Kodi Box”.
There is nothing illegal about Kodi, as I said it is an amazing way to keep your media organized in one place. The way Kodi comes into its own is with the tons of add-ons that you can get. Add-ons are what Kodi is all about and many of your favorite entertainment apps such as Spotify and Netflix have an add-on that you can use in Kodi if you want.
Look, we are not naive enough to think that being able to stream TV shows and movies is what most people get interested in Kodi about. However, the awesome way that it lets you keep all of your media together is very cool and something that once you start to use, you will wonder how you ever did without it.
I have found Kodi very easy to use, but I will say that how smoothly it runs will depend on the device you are using. A Fire Stick for example is a very popular way for people to use Kodi, but as a Fire Stick is a weak device, you may not get the best performance. Also, Kodi does need to be updated quite frequently, and refusing to do so can lead to it not working all that great.
The majority of people I know use Kodi in some kind of capacity, some ways that I am not exactly approving of if I am being honest, but who am I to judge! It is a great piece of software and one that I have had a lot of fun with for more than a few years. If you love organizing your media, you will have a great time with Kodi.
