I know a lot of people will take one look at PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator and start rolling their eyes. However, hear me out here when I say this is a charming little sim game that got its hooks into me way more than I thought it would. Ever wanted to be a YouTub…. Sorry, I mean Tuber? Well, this could be the game for you.

The Game Review
The goal of the game is to become the biggest Tuber around. This means even bigger than the main man himself, PewDiePie! I will admit I am not exactly what you would call a fan of his, but the game does have his “charm” and I am certain his fans will love all the fan service and the schtick that he always does which is included here.
The game is all about getting views and getting bucks. You need to pay attention to what is “trending” and then when you get the chance to make a video, you can pick from one of three. If you make one that is a popular topic, you can get more views which as you have guessed means more money!
When you make money, you can of course spend money. Decking out your Tuber lair is a lot of fun and there is some neat stuff for you to purchase. The game is very easy to get into and it teaches you the basics through playing which is something that I always do like. However, as a free to play game we have to talk about microtransactions.
You can play this game without spending a penny which is what I did and I had a fun time in the process. Yet, like other games, PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator has its hand out pretty much constantly. Things take “time” in this game, but you can speed that up with some in-game currency! You do not have to do this, but it is always there in your face.
Oh, there is also a pug mini-game that is like a cross between pinball and pachinko machines that is pretty fun. You make a pug fall and hopefully, he will win you some money as he goes, I found that he never really wins you much. Still, as a mini-game, it is a fun distraction and it was always a highlight when I would get the chance to play it.
I do love the style of the game. It has a very retro look going on and I feel that it fits the game perfectly. Much of what is said is done in that PewDiePie style so there is a bit of salty language, but nothing worse than you will hear in one of his videos. I am sure for fans of his, the presentation is great.
Ok, so I will be honest and say that I did not expect much at all from PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator. Yet, I found myself to not just keep on playing out of habit, but because I was having fun. While fun, I do prefer the YouTubers Life game that was released a few years back. Still, for a free to play game, you cannot go wrong giving this a go.
