Youtubers Life 2

When the first Youtubers Life came out, I thought it was a fun little game, but after a few weeks, I never went back to it. With Youtubers Life 2, they have taken what made that first game fun and greatly expanded on it. I will admit that at first when I saw that full price tag I was a little skeptical, but this is a game that has a ton of charm and way more longevity than its predecessor.

The Game Review

The goal of Youtubers Life 2 is the same as it was in the first game and that is to reach YouTube stardom! The thing is, there are many more ways you can become a YouTube star in this game! The first thing that is worth noting is that this is now a much larger game, you have a little town that you can explore which is full of NPCs and even some YouTube stars such as Pew-Die-Pie.

You start with just a small room, your bed, and a computer, but the world is your oyster! Making videos in the game is a lot of fun and similar to what it was in the previous game. It is kind of like a puzzle mini-game where you have to use cards to decide what will happen in the video. Some cards can make viewers go wild, others not so much.

Editing your videos is also done in a puzzle-like manner. You need to try and fix the different parts of your video together like a jigsaw puzzle. This is where the game’s progression comes into play as you can get a better computer once you have more money and this makes editing your videos easier.

You can buy netter game consoles, new games and so on too. All the stuff that a Youtuber needs to keep their audience engaged. While you can make your money through your YouTube empire, there is more to the game than that. You can also take on various little jobs for NPCs and this is a great way to make money, especially early on in the game.

You can also get sponsorships, strike deals with famous YouTubers, and more. While the first game felt like you saw all it had to offer after just a few hours. Youtubers Life 2 is different in that there is always something to do, you have a “hashtag” list of trends that you can work on each day such as posting a popular image to your social media or making a video about a trending topic, and so on.

The only time that the game does slow down is when you need energy. You replenish your energy by eating and sleeping. To be fair, if this mechanic was not in the game, then you would just be able to crank out 10 or more videos in a day and break the game so I get why it is there.

The presentation is a lot of fun too. It has a very similar style to the first game, but with a lot more polish to it. I think that the characters kind of look like the My Sims characters from the Wii game that was released many years ago. The UI is much cleaner and easier to navigate and in all the game just has a much higher budget kind of vibe to it than the first one.

Even though I have only spent a few days with the game, I am very impressed with what they have done here. If you enjoyed the first game, you are going to love what they have done with Youtubers Life 2. It is just a very, very charming game that is way more addictive than you would think!
