The Game Review
Slendrina: The Cellar 2 is available to play in first-person mode. The game only has one playable mode which is the main campaign. However, the campaign only has one level which consists of a big maze-like map full of doors and hallways. Players start off at the entrance of the maze where the only item they are carrying is a torch. The players have to traverse through the hallways and go through different doors but before they can do so, they require numerous keys to open the doors accordingly. These keys are lying around in different rooms or in the hallways. Players are required to collect these keys and in-turn open the doors where they can find books.
Coming to the horror part, similar to its predecessor, the game has two antagonists in the form of Slendrina and her daughter. The mother and daughter are ghost characters that suddenly show up as part of the jump scare and try to kill the player. However, the main challenge is for the players to lose them as they can not directly attack them head-on. The game does not allow any action or fighting to take place between the characters, so they have no choice but to run and lose the duo by passing through different hallways and doors. If the players get attacked by either of the characters and receive enough damage, their character dies, consequently making them start over again from the beginning.
The overall map is huge, so the game is continuous and must be played consistently for a good amount of time in order to finish it.
Slendrina: The Cellar 2 is similar to another game developed by the same developer which goes by the name of Granny. Both the games are very similar in their mechanics mainly because they feature a similar storyline.
The major difference is that instead of Slendrina and her daughter, Granny only features one antagonist, being granny herself. In both the games, players have to escape from the maze without having to die. Moreover, the graphics are also similarly decent and compatible as it enables players to play on outdated phones and software as well.
Overall, Slendrina: The Cellar 2 is a very addictive game which combines horror with adventure. The game is short as it only has one level, so it makes it all the more addictive by giving players the motivation to complete it to the fullest. Moreover, the sudden jump scares by Slendrina and her daughter are something that definitely manages to shake the players.
In short, once someone starts playing, they won’t be able to rest until they finish it up completely.
