The Game Review
Starting off with the single-player mode, the game offers a campaign which starts with a tutorial as they are taught the basics of the game. These basics include how players can summon their monsters and what they require in order to be summoned.
The campaign basically follows the story of a young protagonist (the player) who is competing at the request of Durand, a powerful magician on the council of summoners. The game is centered around the player’s character as they are required to collect various monsters which can be later used in battles.
There are different monsters in the game, each varying in their statistics ranging from 1 star to 6 stars. Naturally, the higher the star is, the stronger the monster is, making it rarer to collect. Monsters with a higher rating have increased overall strength compared to those who are weaker than them. In addition, the monsters with a lower rating can also be upgraded to a higher level through gaining experience.
Consequently, players can make their monsters gain experience by using them in different arenas including dungeons, the Trial of Ascension, and even competing against one another in online battles.
Moving on, players themselves have a specific level which they can upgrade through taking part in battles, completing basic actions, or by completing missions. Each player has a maximum amount of energy which can increase by leveling up.
By competing in battles or completing missions, players can earn experience and in-game currency as well in the form of Mana Stones and Crystals. Mana Stones are more commonly available as they are the basic ingredient to level up monsters whereas, Crystals are mostly just bought using real currency although sometimes, they are given as a reward after completing specific missions.
Summoners War: Sky Arena is quite similar to an Android game called Clash of Clans. Although Clash of Clans isn’t turn-based, both the games feature strategized summoning and online battles. In both the games, players are required to harbor different characters in order to defend or attack the opponents. They feature online modes with a similar battle framework.
Overall, Summoners War: Sky Arena is a very addicting game full of action and strategy. It is a game which requires brainstorming by making the right moves, especially since the game is turn-based. The online battles feature a competitive environment whereas the campaign involves the players in a very interactive story, making them addicted to it either way.
