I must admit, I am kind of shocked at the negative reviews Fast X is getting. I mean, it is a pure continuation of a series that has just gotten crazier and crazier, what were people expecting? It is not my favorite movie in the series, but I had a fun time watching it and I am excited to see where the next movie goes, especially because of the credits scene, which I got a kick out of big time in the theatre!
How to Download Fast X

Click on the Download button at the end of this review and check the current availability. The Movie Review
In going back to those negative reviews, I just do not understand how you can like the previous movies and then say that this one is garbage. I get if someone says that they did not like this as much as some of the others, hey I am right there with you. But I do not see how this movie is being called flat-out “bad” by some people and review sites.
I have gotten a kick out of how over the top The Fast Saga has gotten, for a series that started off with street racing and stolen DVD players to end up in space and all other kinds of crazy stuff is just awesome. I remember seeing that first Fast movie back in the early 00s and never in a million years would I have predicted it would end up in space or with a submarine car chase!
The plot here is all over the freaking place, but at its core, Fast X is a very typical Fast movie. The family are once again the target of someone looking for revenge! The difference this time around is that the guy looking for revenge is the most bat-poop-crazy bad guy Dom and the fam have come up against.
Stealing the show in Fast X is Jason Momoa as Dante Reyes. Dante is the son of Herman Reyes who was killed in Fast Five and as a result, lost his crime and drug empire. He is out to take everything from Dom and he is willing to go to the most extreme lengths to make it happen.
Jason Momoa is an absolute riot in Fast X. He is the most over-the-top and crazy villain you will ever see, he is almost Joker-like in his antics. You can tell that Jason Momoa was having an absolute blast playing this role. He is so over the top, but he pulls it off and in this insane world that the Fast series calls home, he could not fit in any better.
The Fast series is known for its insane set pieces and I feel like in each movie since Fast Five, you can pinpoint one scene that was the most nuts. Fast X is the most over-the-top yet as you could do a top five crazy over-the-top scenes list and still have some honorable mentions. The action here is awesome and just so much fun. but despite this, the stakes do not feel as high as 99/100, people just get up and walk away from the insane stuff that has happened.
I get why they do this and to be honest, looking for “realism” in a Fast movie is dumb. However, if you feel like the characters are never in any actual danger of getting killed, it does lessen the thrills a little bit. I will say that the movie looks incredible! The stunts, the explosions, there is always something going on and it has a stacked cast.
Actually, the stacked cast as awesome as it looks on the poster in the movie theatre is one of the main issues with the movie. The cast is just far too big, with returning characters and new characters, there simply is not enough screen time to give everyone enough time to shine.
I do not care what any review says, I enjoyed watching Fast X in the theatre and I plan on going to watch it again! It is a fun, over-the-top action movie that follows the Fast formula perfectly and that was what I wanted. I can see why it may be just a little too over the top for some, but at the end of the day, this is a series that has always been about topping what came before it so what do people expect?
