Fifty Shades Freed is an erotic romantic movie produced by Perfect World Pictures. The film is the third and final edition of the Fifty Shades franchise (started with Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) and followed by Fifty Shades Darker (2017)) and was released on 6th February 2018. The film is directed by James Foley and stars Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Eric Johnson, Rita Ora, Luke Grimes, and Victor Rasuk as the main cast.

The Film Review
Fifty Shades Freed continues the story from where it left off as we get to see Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele finally married together and on their honeymoon. Their trip, however, is cut short when they find out that Anastasia’s ex-boss, Jack Hyde, broke into their apartment and stole some computer files.
Christian hires a security team to protect Anastasia and orders her to stay at home, regardless, Anastasia leaves the house to hang out with her best friend Kate Kavanagh.
Anastasia is attacked by Hyde but the security team manages to restrain him before any casualties occur. Anastasia reveals to Christian that she is pregnant which causes him anxiety, leading to an argument between the two and as a result, Christian spends the night drunk at a bar with her former lover and BDSM dominant, Elena Lincoln.
Anastasia, after finding out about Elena, becomes mad at Christian but before she could confront him, she is once again threatened by Jack Hyde who kidnaps Christian’s sister Mia this time and demands Anastasia to come alone and pay him ransom in return for Mia’s freedom and safety.
The film revolves around the couple as they try to adjust to this new phase in their lives in the form of their unborn child, while also protecting one another from an external threat that is Jack Hyde.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are back once again to close up on what has been a disaster so far. The film has very little to offer in terms of a proper storyline and instead, it mostly just displays the couple’s extravagant way of living. The film begins with Anastasia and Christian’s characters on a luxurious honeymoon in France. Anastasia’s friends buy her numerous dresses, and Christian purchases ANOTHER property in the form of a house.
Anastasia can be seen driving a car, whereas Christian is riding a jet ski. All the details in between are either erotic scenes between the two, or Christian’s inner anxiety which kicks in every time their erotic experiment fails.
Similar to its previous editions, countless fans and critics from around the world have shown concern over the film’s portrayal of Anastasia and Christian’s relationship. Even after their marriage, there’s no respect or consent amongst each other.
In most of the sexual scenes, Anastasia has to use a safe word just to make Christian stop not because it’s consent, but a rule established by Christian himself. It’s not just this particular film, but the whole Fifty Shades franchise has been about forcing a woman into a sexual relationship that she is clearly not comfortable with.
Overall, the film is an explicit emotional mess. There’s no real story involved nor is there anything to look forward to. It is also strictly recommended that anyone who attempts to watch this film should be 18 and over.
