Released all the way back in 1984, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter as the title suggests was made with being the last movie in the franchise! That intent lasted like a year as there would be a Part V that sucks, released the following year. I hold Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter in pretty high regard.

The Movie Review: Introducing Tommy Jarvis
One of the most notable things about this movie is that it is the first appearance of Tommy Jarvis. Tommy is played by Corey Feldman who is an absolute 80s icon in my opinion. It is crazy to think that Tommy appeared in three different movies and in each one he is played by a different actor!
Taking place right after the events of Part III, Jason thought to be dead, wakes up in the morgue and gets to killing right away. Jason makes his way back to Camp Crystal Lake, leaving a pile of dead bodies along the way. Tommy is a quirky kid who loves making masks and he lives with his mother and his sister Trish.
The Confrontation with Jason
They meet a young man called Rob, who is the brother of Sandra from Part 2. Tommy, Trish, and Rob soon realize what is going on with Jason and they plan a trap to try and stop him once and for all. Is Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter similar to Part III and all of the other movies in the series? If I am being honest, I would have to say yet, but I do not mind at all.
The Legacy of The Final Chapter
In my humble opinion, when it comes to Friday the 13th there are certain things that you expect and The Final Chapter pretty much delivers on all of them. It has some fantastic and over-the-top kills, every teenage character cliché you can imagine, and the creepy-as-hell Camp Crystal Lake setting.
The gore in this movie is great and at the time, this had the best-looking version of Jason. One thing that is awesome about this movie is the end. With them at the time they made this thinking this was the end of the franchise. They make sure to kill Jason in a very gruesome way and it is pretty damn awesome.
Final Thoughts on The Final Chapter
Actually, the whole ending scene with Tommy and Trish fighting off Jason and Tommy showing how smart he is is one of my favorite scenes in the entire franchise. While most of the attention is given to Tommy as he would go on to become Jason’s nemesis, I have to say that I really liked Trish as well and class her as one of the best Friday the 13th Final Girls. Also, she is an integral part of Tommy’s character in the later movies.
If you like this series, you will love Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter it is as simple as that. While Part VI is my favorite of the originals, to be fair, if they did decide to call it a day here, it would have been a good finale. I love this franchise as a whole, but if I am just watching a couple of movies, it is usually this one followed by Jason Lives.
