Before the first Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey movie came out, I was so invested and excited for it. That movie turned out to be a massive disappointment, honestly one of the most disappointing horror movies I have ever seen. It sucks big time when you have such high hopes for a movie and then you do not enjoy it. Still, it was a big enough hit that Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 was greenlit.

The Movie Review
Even though I did not like the first movie, I still feel that “The Twisted Childhood Universe” has a ton of potential so while my excitement was not as high for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 as it was the first movie, I was still intrigued. This time around there was a higher budget and overall, this is a much better movie. I would not say that it is great, but I do think it is a huge improvement over the first movie and I did quite enjoy it.
Plot and Storyline Development
After the events of the first movie, Christopher Robin has returned to his home of Ashdown and as you would expect, no one believes him about what happened! While they cannot prove he was responsible, people are sure that he did it and they call this event the “100 Acre Wood Massacre” they even make a movie about it.
Christopher Robin’s life falls apart professionally and personally. We find out that Christopher Robin has a younger brother who was abducted many years earlier and he still has PTSD from that. No spoilers here, but there is a bit of lore and world building in regards to Pooh and friends and honestly, I really liked it and thought that it was a pretty neat and clever idea.
Pooh’s New Crew: Tigger and Owl
Pooh was left all alone at the end of the last movie as Piglet was killed. However, Pooh has a couple more buddies this time around in Tigger and Owl. Owl suggests to Pooh that they head to Ashdown to make Christopher Robin pay and they can also kill a bunch of other people too. That is the basic premise of the story, Pooh and pals hit the town and paint it red with blood.
Characters and Creature Designs
I have to say, getting Tigger and Owl in on things is awesome. Owl and Tigger have these awesome and super creepy designs and I think that with the creature costumes, you can tell that they had a much higher budget this time around. I also liked that Owl was smarter and kind of the brains of the operation, he was by far my favorite character in the movie.
Christopher Robin’s Character Growth
In the first movie, Christopher Robin was kind of lame and not all that deep. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 gives Christopher Robin much more character and I was actually rooting for him to survive this time around. There are lots of over the top and very bloody scenes in this movie and once again like the costumes, that higher budget can be seen here.
Final Thoughts
While that first movie was a massive disappointment, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 actually offered what I wanted from this premise. I still think a bit of humor sprinkled on top would be great. However, this was a lot of fun and I think that some people are a bit harsh on this one. Even if you did not like the first movie, give this one a try. Also, if you have not seen the first movie, give that one a miss and just start here!
