Well, Jason Statham doing Jason Statham things is probably the best way to describe what Wrath of Man is all about. I had a great time with this movie, but I am a huge fan of Jason Statham, my wife on the other hand did not like this movie at all and said it was like every other Jason Statham movie…well, that was exactly what I liked about it. That right there tells you the kind of person this movie is aimed at.

The Movie Review
In charge is Guy Ritchie who more often than not makes movies that click with me and it was great to see Guy Ritchie team up once again with Jason Statham as the two have worked very well together in the past. Wrath of Man is a loud, cool, and badass action movie and something I was very entertained with.
The movie takes place over a few different “acts” it is a pretty cool way of telling an action/revenge story, especially when on paper, you could argue that you have seen this plot a million times before. Jason Statham plays the role of H; H has just gotten a new job working as a driver for a security company that transports millions of dollars all over LA.
As you would expect, something goes wrong on a job and we see that H is a total badass and takes out a whole group of would-be robbers all by himself. It is typical Ritchie/Statham stuff and I thought that it was fantastic! Jason Statham going around fighting robbers would be enough to get me interested, but I liked how Wrath of Man has a bit more to its plot than just that.
You see, before he started working for this security company there was an “accident” there was a robbery of one of these money-driving trucks and it resulted in H’s son getting killed and himself getting injured. He took this job to try and find the people who are responsible for his son’s death. Again, no points for originality with the plot, but it is executed very well.
While you well and truly want to see H get his revenge and these bad guys that he comes across well and truly deserve what they get. H is so driven and brutal in his executions of them in a very, very small way you do sort of wince and feel a tad (a very small tad) bad for them.
It is so easy to focus on Jason Statham, but Wrath of Man has a truly wonderful cast. Holt McCallany, Josh Hartnett, Andy Garcia, Scott Eastwood, and Jeffery Donovan are just a sample of the talented people who have brought this latest Guy Ritchie tale to life. Every person in this movie plays their role very well so while it may seem like a “dumb action movie” the cast you can tell really believes in it.
If you are not a fan of Jason Statham or Guy Ritchie’s work then nothing I say will convince you that Wrath of Man is a good movie. It plays to the strengths of the lead actor and the director and for those that like these guys, it is great. However, I can also see the flip side of this and why many people (like my wife) will be rolling their eyes and not having a great time while watching it.
