Is it me or are there like a million entertainment companies that want 5 to 10 bucks a month out of you? Paramount+, as the name suggests, is the streaming offering from Paramount who has an impressive catalog of movies and TV shows to fill their streaming service with. As you would expect, there is also some original content here as well.

The Program Review
The first thing to know about Paramount+ is that there are two versions. One version will cost you $4.99 per month and the premium version costs $9.99 per month. Some people are under the impression that the cheaper option is the same, but you have to watch ads, but that is not the case. While the premium version is ad-free, there are many features that are only on the premium version of Paramount+.
To start with you can only download and watch shows offline if you have a premium subscription. Many live events such as the Emmys and some live sporting events such as The Masters are tied to the premium tier as well. You can stream your local CBS station with Paramount+, but this is also tied to the premium plan.
Those extra five bucks per month do a lot more than just get rid of the ads! Paramount+ has tons of shows from places like MTV, Nickelodeon, CBS, Comedy Central, and BET to name a few. I do not think their original content comes anywhere close to matching what Netflix, Disney Plus, or HBO Max offer, but that at the end of the day is a personal opinion.
One thing that Paramount+ is pretty great for is sporting events. You can watch some great live sport here such as the NFL and the Champions league! When you factor this in with the vast amount of TV shows and movies, Paramount+ becomes a very attractive option for people looking for a streaming service.
As far as using Paramount+ goes, if you have used any other streaming service before, you will feel right at home here. They offer you the ability to have up to six different profiles. There is also a kid’s profile option which is handy as it locks out anything that it deems unsuitable for children.
I know that I said that you have two pricing options, but there are actually four. Instead of paying monthly, you can pay an annual fee of $49.99 for the basic version or $99.99 for the premium version which is saving you a decent amount of money. If this is worth it if you already have something like Netflix or HBO Max is something that you will have to decide for yourself.
There is a lot of content here on Paramount+. They have a ton of great movies from the Paramount and MGM library so there is something for everyone here. Their TV shows section is stacked too and the ability to watch live sport is pretty awesome. For me, the $4.99 a month one is not worth the money, but I think the $9.99 premium service is not bad at all.
