Among the Sleep is a 2014 first-person survival horror game in which you play as a toddler may sound odd, but they pull it off near perfectly and this enhanced edition has more than enough bells and whistles to make it worthwhile. in 2017 the game was re-released as Among the Sleep – Enhanced Edition with better visuals and additional content.

The Game Review
The game sees you playing as a toddler. It is your birthday, you are with your mummy and having a great day, you even get a teddy bear! Then at bedtime, something sinister happens a supernatural force takes teddy and when you go to your mothers’ bed, she is missing! This sets you out on a quest to save your mother from the evil that has taken over your house.
I found the premise and the story to be fantastic. Having a nightmare as a child is something, we can all relate to and this nightmare world comes to life is done very well. Each section has its own feel from a creepy park, a forest and new to this enhanced version, a museum to name a few.
It looks great and I like how much smoother and clearer the visuals are in this new version of the game. You play the game from the first-person perspective which is quite interesting. As you are a toddler you see the world kind of differently and just doing something like climbing takes more effort.
This is something that the game does very well. None of the puzzles that you encounter are too difficult, but they are still fun. Most of the puzzles involve things like collecting statues, puzzle pieces or avoiding a creepy supernatural enemy. The game may be a tad linear, but I actually think that works in its favor.
Remember the teddy bear I told you about? Well, he gains the ability to talk and I love this. I found that the teddy bear started off kind of creepy, but eventually he becomes a real friend and calming influence on the toddler. Even though you will see the ending coming from a mile away. It is done very, very well and so well that it made me want to go back and play through it again.
Overall, I found that the game controlled very well. It is very easy to get to grips with and most of what you will be doing is moving stuff around so that you can get to the next area. This does not sound all that exciting, but with how creepy this world is and the thought that this kid may never see their mother it really does drive you to keep on moving.
I think that Among the Sleep – Enhanced Edition is a fantastic game. I liked it when it was first released, but the added content and the improved visuals more than make this the version you need to play. I played the game on the Nintendo Switch, but it is also available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam.
