Farm Manager 2021: Prologue is a free-to-play game that serves as a kind of taster for what is to come when the full game hits later in 2021. There is no shortage of farming games these days and I do not see that as a bad thing. This is one that is going for a more realistic approach to the world of farming.

The Game Review
The goal of the game is to keep your farm running and profitable. It sounds like a very simple concept, but there are many plates that you have to keep spinning in Farm Manager 2021: Prologue. It may seem a bit daunting at first, but once it all clicks you will feel like a real pro-farmer.
There are many aspects of the game and they all add up to if your farm will be running right and profitable or not. The harvest is a huge deal and you need to prepare, plant, and sell your crops. There are many things that you can plant and grow in the game and finding the right balance can be quite tricky.
You can hire many people to work on your farm and these guys will quite often just get to work and take care of things. The thing with this is that keeping your employees happy is something that you have to stay on top of. If your farmhands are happy, they will do their job and save you a load of hassle in the long run.
The game does a great job in letting you know what the priorities are and then you can delegate the work accordingly. Taking care of animals and looking after your farm equipment are another couple of key areas. These things all add up and it can be a lot for you to keep your eye on as you play.
One thing that I thought was really neat was having the ability to add “special buildings” to your farm. These are buildings such as a mechanics headquarters, a vet, and even a logistics building for getting your crops out there to the world. Having stuff like this on your farm makes you feel like you are running a little empire.
The core gameplay will take a while to get used to. I say this because this game has a very basic tutorial. There are many aspects to building your farm and getting it all up and running that the game does not teach you about. This may be frustrating for some people and I hope that when the full game is released, a proper tutorial is included.
The presentation of the game is rather basic too. It is in full 3D, but everything has a rather bland and unappealing look to it. It is not a “bad” looking game, but after a while, it does give you a kind meh feeling as far as the visuals go. It could do with a bit of brightening up, but to be fair this is going for a more realistic approach.
I am a sucker for a good farming game and I am very interested to see how this one plays out. As you can download and play Farm Manager 2021: Prologue for free, I do feel that it is worth checking out. There is no locked-in release date for the full game yet, but STEAM has it listed as Q1 2021.
