The Game Review

At the beginning of the game, you get to choose one out of four characters. After selecting your character, you answer three questions. The first two questions will determine your stats at the beginning. The last question determines the prom date that you’ll be assigned. Your prom date will be anyone of the following six characters: Scott, Miranda, Vera, Polly, Liam, and Damien. Each character has a unique personality.

Once you are assigned a date, you start to use all your wiles and tactics to get the person to like you. You select a place in the school to visit, and you’ll see your date assignation there. You might also run into other characters in places like the lunchroom. You interact with them and answer their questions. The more you vibe with them, the more likely you convince them to go on a date with you. At the end of the game, after all the turns, you will ask any of the characters to go on the Prom date with you. You can choose not to ask your designated date and ask another character. But, the chances of you getting a date with the other characters are low. You might be accepted, rejected or end up with other endings like missing the prom date.

Characters in the game use foul language and swear a lot. Also, they do various illegal things like selling drugs right in school. Bullying also occurs in the game. The game aims for humor, but most of the humor is dark. Well, it’s a monster-based game, so maybe that should be expected. Monster Prom targets an adult audience, and every element in the game aligns with this. So, you will encounter dark and vulgar humor, evil plots and a lot of pop culture references.

In comparison with other dating simulators like Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, your choices are limited. Other games allow you to flirt with different people and date whoever you like. But Monster Prom is restrictive in nature. You can decide how long you want the game to be. A short playthrough of the game is about 30 minutes while a long playthrough takes about an hour.

Monster Prom has a multiplayer mode. In this mode, you can play with three other people locally. You can also play online with others. So, after experiencing the single-player mode once, you can go on to enjoy the multiplayer. But you can go for more than one single-player playthrough. The developers said that there are about 388 scenarios and 1384 outcomes. So, you can replay the game over and over again to see the various endings and hear all the jokes.

Keith was born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles. He's been playing video games for as long as he can remember, and his passion for them has only grown stronger over the years. And he loves writing about it all.
