The Game Review

Seasons, the fifth expansion to the original game (after Get to Work, Get Together, City Living, and Cats & Dogs) offers an additional variety of weather. This means that your player will experience all four seasons in a single year, no matter what part of the Sims world they live in. It rains, it pours and it snows.

During winter, the player is expected to simulate life as one would in the winter. New winter clothes have been added to the wardrobe of the players so that they don’t freeze and they can go outside and have fun while performing various winter activities. These include building a snowman or constructing an igloo. You also have the option of just enjoying the cozy comfort of your home. Not only this but skating rinks have also been developed where you can take your player to ice skate. Be careful not to fall down on the ice, though.

Rainstorms often accompany the spring and summer season. You can dance in the rain outside or you can even go swimming to the nearest swimming pool of the community whenever you feel like. The heat in the summer is high and summer clothes have been designed for the characters accordingly. However, beware of thunderstorms and heat strokes because the new expansion pack also brings your player closer to reality, that is, deaths have a higher chance of occurring if you’re not being careful in extreme weather conditions. Four new types of deaths have been added in this version. You can die from the cold in the winter, the heat in the summer, from smelling a poisonous flower or you can even die if you get struck by lightning.

However, weather conditions can be controlled with the help of a weather-controlling machine.

In addition, a new career field of gardening has also been introduced so that you can grow whatever plants or trees you want to in any suitable season. New types of flowers have been added too.

Another addition to the game is that of holidays. Popular holidays are now celebrated in the game in their full glory. New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and many other public days can be celebrated. In addition, you can also add holidays of your own.
